Practice description
I’m Niall, a BACP registered counsellor (registration number 413944) providing person-centred online therapy across the UK from my base in Leeds.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a lawyer and later in policy and leadership roles within central government and the NHS in England. I am a qualified coach and mentor.
These experiences continue to inform my understanding of:
- professional pressure
- workplace stress and burnout
- high-responsibility roles
I have a first hand understanding of the pressures, demands and loneliness which can come from being the person in charge whom everyone is relying on.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy (Distinction) from the University of Leeds, where I worked both online and face to face with clients.
Working with through an easy to use online videocall system, I offer a warm, safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you are fully accepted and empowered as the expert on your own life.

I will talk to you about my approach to counselling and psychotherapy, which is rooted in the person-centred tradition.

It is my role to work with you to create the right environment for you to work through the issues you are facing.
Working online means that you can access counselling at a time and place which is convenient for you, without the hassle and expense of travelling
Should you decide to work with me then in our first full session we will discuss how we will approach crucial issues such as confidentiality, and finalise our approach to working together.
This helps maintain momentum and build a consistent rhythm that supports meaningful change.
