About me and my therapy practice

If you’ve been carrying something heavy; perhaps not able to talk about it with anyone, feeling a sense of sadness, feeling emotionally numb, or just feeling stuck in a cycle which is taking you further from yourself and others. Maybe you’ve been through something painful that no one fully saw or understood. Or perhaps you’ve learned to carry it all quietly, but it’s starting to feel too much.

Painful difficult experiences stay with us, even when we think we’ve moved on. They can echo quietly in the background, or seep into how we see ourselves, how we connect with others, and how we respond to the world around us. They can shape our choices, our relationships, and even the way we imagine the future, often without us realising it.

I work with people who are carrying the emotional impact of all kinds of painful experiences, whether those experiences are recent or rooted in the past. You don’t need to label what you’ve been through; your story is unique to you, it matters, and you deserve to be heard.

My practice is inclusive, and my aim is to create a warm, safe and affirming space to welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities including LGBTQ+ clients. All aspects of your identity will be welcome; I want you to know that you can bring who you are without fear of being challenged or dismissed.

Practice description

I offer one-to-one counselling sessions in-person, online or by telephone, for anyone aged 16 and above. In-person sessions take place at Kettering or Wellingborough in Northamptonshire.

I work as a person-centred therapist with an integrative approach, which means I place you at the heart of the therapeutic process. I strongly believe that you are the expert in your own world, I won’t tell you how to feel or what to do. I will support you as you navigate the challenges you're facing, helping you make sense of your emotions, thoughts and behaviours.

There is no script to our counselling sessions, you are free to bring whatever feels important to you in your own time and your own way.

In our sessions, we’ll gently explore what’s going on beneath the surface, helping you make sense of your thoughts and feelings without judgement, without pressure. As you begin to understand yourself with more compassion and kindness, you may start to feel more present, more confident, and more aligned with who you truly are.

I’m a down-to-earth, trauma-informed counsellor, and I truly believe that healing happens through real human connection. I bring warmth, empathy, and honesty into the room, not as an expert telling you what to do, but as a fellow human, meeting you where you are at; offering support with gentle curiosity and care.

Alongside my private practice, I also work with two local charities; supporting individuals who have experienced any form of sexual violence and offering counselling and wellbeing support for young people. My experience includes supporting both young people and adults at every stage of life.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minutes online/telephone initial consultation. This is a good time to ask any questions or discuss any fears or barriers you might be feeling to commencing counselling. It’s also a chance for me to establish that I can meet your needs and expectations.

If you choose to go ahead and make an appointment I will send you a client details form to complete before the first session.
