About me and my therapy practice
Welcome
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my bio. My name is Rachel, and if you’ve found your way here, it may be that something within you is seeking support. At Campbell Counselling & Celebrancy, I provide professional counselling for individuals navigating grief, change, and emotional overwhelm, often during pivotal moments in life. Whether you are coping with loss, searching for clarity, or simply looking for a non-judgemental space to talk, I offer a calm and confidential environment where your story will be heard and respected.
I am trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). My extensive experience in bereavement support includes many years volunteering with Cruse Bereavement Care, as well as nearly two years coordinating a local bereavement support group. I also volunteer as a Grief Supporter for Mid & North Powys Mind, providing remote support to clients coping with grief and loss.
Inclusive Practice
I am dedicated to improving access to counselling for LGBTQ+ clients, and I take pride in providing an inclusive practice that welcomes individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations. My aim is to offer a supportive and affirming counselling experience for LGBTQ+ clients.
Core Messages within my Practice
• “You don’t have to carry it alone.”
• “Grief speaks in many ways. I’m here to listen.”
• “Together, we’ll find a way through.”
• “Whatever you’re feeling, it matters.”
• “A quiet space to talk, feel, and begin again.”
Practice description
I provide Person-Centred counselling, drawing from a Humanistic framework. My approach is also pluralistic—I understand that each client may need different therapeutic methods at different stages of their journey. I prioritise your viewpoint, work collaboratively, and customise therapy to fit your unique needs, acknowledging you as the expert of your own life while using my expertise to support you effectively.
I am dedicated to truly listening, helping you make sense of your experiences, and offering stability during uncertain periods. We will explore whatever matters most to you, always moving at your pace and in ways that feel comfortable for you.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I strictly adhere to their Ethical Framework, ensuring an ethical and person-centred practice.
When working with loss and bereavement, I frequently draw on grief models and analogies to help clients understand that their emotions are a natural response to loss. There is no single ‘right’ way to grieve—only your way.
Whatever challenges bring you to counselling, I offer a safe and confidential space to talk, reflect, and begin to understand your feelings. Together, we’ll gently navigate a path forward, taking each step at your pace and following the direction you choose.
I bring warmth, empathy, and quiet strength to my work, offering genuine, down-to-earth support and gentle challenge where needed. My aim is to meet you where you are and to walk alongside you as you find your way forward.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone call so you can get a sense of whether I’m the right fit for you. There’s no pressure and no obligation—just an opportunity to talk and see how you feel. Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes. My work is mainly online or by phone, but I can also provide some local, in-person sessions if required, dependent on availability.
My first session
I will email you a personal details form as well as our counselling agreement ahead of our first session for you to read over and complete. We can go through anything you wish to discuss in our first session to ensure you are comfortable.
I appreciate life is very challenging at this moment in time and I can consider some concessionary rates if possible. I also warmly welcome students who are looking for a counsellor as part of their own journey and am able to consider a reduced rate during your studies.
