About me and my therapy practice

Whether it’s your first experience of receiving counselling or you have accessed multiple clinical support services previously, I understand this step can feel challenging and I want to help support you through this process.

I have a wealth of experience working as a therapeutic support worker and counsellor within education, voluntary sector and private practice. I currently run my private practice from Earlswood, Solihull where I offer counselling to adult’s,  whilst also counselling young people at the Charity, Young Gloucestershire.

My style of counselling is integrative, allowing me to draw on multiple psychological theories and techniques to enhance your therapy experience. The core of my service is focused on providing an authentic, non-judgemental and empathic space where together we can explore your world to help you gain greater clarity, self compassion and forward momentum for change and improved wellbeing.

We may look at the impacts of your past, present or perceived future and the ways in which you may have adapted in life. Are these adaptions still working for you?! I may draw on mindfulness, experimental practice, creative interventions or be informed by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

I hold a strong belief that given suitable conditions, you can become your own expert. Your experiences may include anxiety, stress, low mood, bereavement, grief, relationship breakdown, low self worth, cultural / religious challenges or you could be in the process of a diagnosis for health, personality or neurodiversity. These are just some areas of distress that I have worked with.

My Qualifications:

Foundation Degree Arts in Integrative Counselling (awarded distinction) - Level 5

Introductory Certificate in Counselling - Level 4

Diploma in Social Science: Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Social Policy-Level 3

Practice description

The clinic is in Earlswood, Solihull and the therapy room is within a relaxed and calming farmhouse building, 5 minutes walk from Earlswood Lakes. Tri Wellness is the base and this is on the border of Warwickshire and easily accessible from the M40 and M42.Parking is free and the surroundings are tranquil and comforting.

Each session is 50 minutes long. There is a waiting room should you wish to arrive a little earlier or stay a little longer afterwards. I understand this extra time can help support you with feelings that may present. There is sufficient free parking onsite.

I understand that whilst therapy is an investment, the cost can create barriers for some clients. My aim is for the service to be accessible and I therefore offer different payment options and concessions where possible.

My first session

I offer a free initial 20 minute consultation call to help establish if the support could be the right fit for yourself. Please reach out to arrange this and I will try to be as flexible as possible with days/times. If you prefer to do this via video call, please let me know.

Whilst I have attempted to list all areas of distress that I can work with, I understand this may not feel matched to your circumstances. I would therefore, encourage you to reach out regardless of your presenting distress/reason for seeking counselling. We can then establish through the initial free call if the service maybe right for you.

The first session will then allow us time to go through the counselling agreement, which outlines the commitment that we are both making to the therapy. We will also begin to delve deeper by discussing what you would like to explore in counselling and what you would like to achieve by doing so. If you are not clear on this, we will navigate this together.

I often work with clients who are experiencing anxiety and low mood. Their distress focuses around relationships, identity and self worth. Through delving deeper, clients report noticing the benefit of having the space to share and explore within the first month. The impact felt from each session can be changeable but clients overall share feeling supported with this and note experiencing improvements in wellbeing.
