How I can help
Through many life experiences including work, travel and family life, I really value people. I am warm, kind-hearted and believe everyone is unique and have their own special story to tell.
Life can feel overwhelming at times - whether it's multiple pressures building up, a relationship struggle, work stress, grief & loss, or past experiences resurfacing.
You might feel stuck, hopeless, struggling with sleep, tearful, angry, or thinking about ways to cope that worry you.
I offer a safe, peaceful space where you can explore difficult feelings, be truly heard, and feel understood.
When trust feels broken - in others or yourself - I will help you find relief and begin to rebuild.
Through compassionate support, you'll start to feel stronger, sleep better, and experience less worry and anxiety.
Life becomes clearer, self-criticism fades, and confidence returns. This healing brings growth - helping you make decisions for the changes you want and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Practical Details:
I work online and face-to-face in North London - Enfield and Bedford, also in clients' homes when preferred.
The counselling spaces are comfortable and welcoming rooms.
I offer a free initial conversation - no pressure, no judgement - so we can decide if we're the right fit.
Practice description
My Approach:
Person-centred therapy is based on a simple but powerful idea: you are the expert on your own life. Carl Rogers, who founded this approach, said "the curious paradox is when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
I believe self-acceptance is a powerful tool in healing. My role isn't to diagnose, advise, or fix you, but to create a safe space where you can explore freely.
In practice, this means:
- You talk about what matters to you, not what you "should" discuss
- I accept you completely, where you are now
- I understand your experience from your perspective, not mine
- I won't hide behind a professional mask - I'll be real, honest and present
- I follow your direction, trusting you'll naturally work through what you need
My Journey:
For nearly 30 years, I taught in secondary schools - working closely with parents and families with special needs and neurodiverse children.
From this I have an appreciation of the:
- Emotional impact
- A frustration of navigating school and government systems
- The strain on relationships
This also gave me the experience of having a stressful and demanding job - the high responsibility, burnout and the impact this can have on our own well-being.
Through my own counselling, I discovered person-centred therapy and knew immediately this was my path.
That experience of feeling stuck and finding a way through now shapes how I work with clients.
My Qualifications:
I'm a qualified person-centred counsellor and registered BACP member, working within their ethical framework. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Getting started
Starting therapy takes courage, and it's okay to feel uncertain. You don't need everything figured out - just a sense that something needs to change.
With deeper self-knowledge and self-acceptance, you can face a brighter future.
If you're ready to explore yours, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.
I'm always happy to answer questions. Take that step and I'll arrange a free consultation.
My first session
Our initial meeting is a relaxed conversation about what's brought you here and what you'd like to explore.
Share as much or as little as feels comfortable. We'll discuss your hopes for therapy with no pressure or expectations - just a supportive space to help you decide if this feels right.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, we’ll go at your pace, in a way that feels supportive and meaningful to you. This could involve gently exploring your past, focusing on the present, or finding ways to manage difficult emotions day-to-day.
I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, tailored to what works best for you.
