About me and my therapy practice
Feeling stuck in something from your past?
What has happened can't be changed. But how you carry it forward can. If you're feeling stuck, anxious or overwhelmed, I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to explore your experience, gain clarity and discover a way forward that feels right for you.
You might find yourself going over things—trying to understand them, or feeling unsure how to move forward.
It could be something recent, or something that’s been there for a long time but hasn’t fully settled.
At times, this can show up as feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of yourself.
In these moments, it can be difficult to make sense of things on your own. Having a space where you can talk openly, and be listened to without judgement, can begin to make a difference.
In our work together, there is space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and to understand your experience more fully.
As that understanding develops, things can begin to feel clearer, and you may find a different way of relating to what’s been difficult.
You don’t have to go through this on your own.
Practice description
My approach
I work in a person-centred way, offering a supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly, at your own pace.
There’s no expectation to have clear answers or know where to begin. We start with whatever feels most present and explore it together.
Rather than giving advice, I aim to help you understand your experience more fully and find your own way forward.
Areas I can help with
I work with young people and adults, supporting a range of experiences, including:
- Feeling stuck or unable to move forward
- Anxiety and overthinking
- Low mood or loss of direction
- Relationship difficulties
- Bereavement and loss
- Past experiences affecting the present
- Self-worth and identity
- Neurodiversity-related challenges
Whatever you’re bringing, we can take the time to explore it together in a way that feels manageable and right for you.
My background
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent nearly 30 years working in secondary education, alongside young people and families, many navigating additional needs and neurodiversity.
Teaching gave me a great deal, but I also came to know personally what it can feel like to become stuck in something that no longer feels right. Through my own counselling, I found person-centred therapy.
That experience — of feeling stuck and gradually finding a way through — eventually led me to retrain as a counsellor. It continues to shape my understanding of how important it can be to feel heard, accepted and not judged.
Getting started
You don’t need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
I offer a free introductory conversation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you. There’s no pressure to make a decision.
If something here feels familiar, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
