About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel heavy at times, especially when you're used to carrying on, staying strong and supporting the people around you. You may be the person others rely on, while your own needs have quietly taken a back seat.

When life becomes centred around everyone else's needs, it can become difficult to hear your own voice.

I offer a warm, collaborative space where we can slow down, make sense of what's happening and reconnect with yourself. Together, we'll gently explore your thoughts, relationships and experiences, helping you respond to life's challenges with greater self-compassion, stability and calm.

Practice description

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches because I don't believe one way of working fits everyone. Every person brings their own story, strengths and needs, and my role is to adapt my approach to you.

I don't believe people come to therapy because they don't know themselves. More often, I think they already know what matters to them, but life has become so busy, overwhelming or painful that those answers have become difficult to hear. My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted, so that together we can make sense of what's happening and explore what feels important to you.

Where it feels helpful, I can also gently incorporate coaching techniques, supporting you not only in understanding yourself, but also in making meaningful, manageable changes in your life.

My first session

Starting counselling can feel like a significant step, and it's completely natural if the first session feels a little unfamiliar.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain from therapy, and whether working together feels like the right fit for you. I'll ask some gentle questions about your current circumstances and what has led you to seek support, while giving you plenty of space to ask questions about how I work.

I am suicide-informed and able to hold space for difficult or distressing thoughts with care and sensitivity. My practice is inclusive and affirming, welcoming clients from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals.
