About me and my therapy practice

Life changes us. Sometimes gradually, sometimes all at once. Bereavement, relationship breakdown, health challenges, identity shifts, redundancy, transitions we didn't choose. Loss comes in many forms, and so does the grief that follows.

I'm Dipti Solanki, an integrative therapist and coach with over 20 years of experience helping adults navigate loss, transition, and the tender, complex process of becoming. My work is rooted in the belief that what brings someone to therapy is rarely just one thing, and that real healing happens when we explore the whole person, not just the presenting problem.

As a British Indian therapist, I bring a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach. I understand that our identity, family background and sense of belonging shape how we experience life and loss - and I hold all of that with great care.

I work with individuals, professionals and organisations. Alongside my private practice I lecture in counselling and coaching at the University of East London, am the founder of Grief Matters 4 All CIC, co-host of A Bunch of Therapists podcast, and author of the Grief, Heartbreak and Hope Journal. My work has been featured in The Telegraph, The Independent, BBC One and Happiful magazine.

Wherever you are in your journey - whether you're deep in grief, feeling lost in transition, or simply carrying something you can no longer carry alone,  I offer a confidential, warm and honest space where we can begin to make sense of it together.

Our first session is 50 minutes and gives us space to explore what brings you here, what you'd like to change, and how we might work together.

Practice description

Taking that first step can feel daunting. My aim is that from the moment you get in touch, you feel at ease.

I offer a free 20-minute connection call before we begin, so you can get a sense of who I am and how I work, ask any questions, and decide whether working together feels right for you. There's no pressure and no obligation.

Sessions are 50 minutes. I work both in person and online, depending on what suits you best.

I have two therapy rooms, both easy to get to. One is a short walk from South Woodford tube station, the other from Roding Valley - with car parking nearby. Both are within easy reach of Buckhurst Hill, Woodford, Chigwell, Loughton and Wanstead.

I typically work with clients weekly, particularly in the early stages, though we can discuss what rhythm works best for you. There is no fixed number of sessions. Some people come for a focused piece of work, others for longer. We review as we go.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic models rather than following a single rigid framework. What matters most is that the work fits you -- your pace, your history, your goals.

If you'd like to find out more, please do get in touch. I'm glad you're here.

My first session

Our first session will be 50 mins that allows space for us to explore:

What brings you to therapy, the kind of changes you would like to experience in your life and the areas you would like to explore.

Of course you might have no idea of the above and that's okay too. Just knowing you are at a point where something has to shift is enough in itself. Watching the work unfold is an empowering process and often a surprising journey. All you need to bring is yourself, curiosity and an open heart.
