About me and my therapy practice
Hiya, I’m Cherie, an experienced, down to earth, open and honest, person-centred Counsellor. I currently work with adolescents, young people and adults.
My approach is warm and centred around building a trusting relationship where you can explore your challenges at your own pace.
My role is to offer you a calm, safe, confidential space and a supportive listening ear so you can express what you need and make sense of what’s been going on for you.
I can support you with anxiety, work or family stress, grief/loss, low self-esteem/confidence and low mood.
You might be feeling out of sorts, affected by past or present experiences, struggling within your close relationships or perhaps you’re trying to make sense of your thoughts or emotions.
Practice description
Person-Centred Approach
My core training is as a Person-Centred Counsellor and this will be at the heart the work we do. From the first session we will discuss the focus of your sessions, which are tailored to you and your needs.
Creative Methods
Sometimes expressing our feelings can be tough, however, I also work creatively, bringing in a variety of creative methods to help to draw out our feelings, which can be helpful when we don't have the words to explain. This can be discussed further and tailored to your preferences.
Alongside my work here, I also work at a young persons mental health charity, providing 1-2-1 therapeutic support to vulnerable young people across Salford and Manchester.
I have worked across various settings for young people and adults providing mental health support for 15 years, meaning I have supported people from all walks of life, helping them navigate:
Anxiety and depression
Grief and bereavement
Relationship challenges
Major life transitions
School/college/university struggles
Bullying
Neurodiversity - Many of my clients are neurodiverse or on the pathway for assessment, my sessions can provide a welcoming space to explore these struggles.
My first session
I can offer you a 20 minute complimentary telephone call to discuss how I can help you.
During our first session we will spend time getting to know each other. Building therapeutic relationship and understanding your needs.
You will have a non judgmental confidential space to explain your difficulties and we will work together to prioritise what is important to explore deeper.
Every client is individual and has different issues and needs, so I ensure the support it tailored to you.
