About me and my therapy practice

Are you tired of holding it all together on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside?

I’m Natalie, and I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can stop masking and start feeling safe and be honest about how you're really feeling. I support clients, especially women and young people, who feel stuck in patterns like people-pleasing, self-sabotage, or low self-worth. Often, these struggles are rooted in trauma or past experiences that taught you it wasn’t safe to be fully yourself. I also work with grief, anxiety, worry, low mood and many more. Together, we can gently explore what’s going on beneath the surface, so you can reconnect with who you are and what you need.

I tailor my therapy sessions to you drawing on a number of counselling theories and practices. I often use creative tools like art, metaphor, or imagery as a gentle but powerful way to help express what can be hard to put into words. You don’t need to be “artistic” to work this way, it's all about exploring yourself and your emotions.

I also specialise in supporting young people, and bring over 12 years’ experience from my time in education, including as a Designated Safeguarding Lead. I understand the pressures young people face, and I offer a calm, accepting space where they can feel seen and heard. I often work with young people who self-harm by exploring the reasons behind harming and exploring harm reduction.

I have experience working with ADHD and supporting clients in navigating this neurodiversity with more self-understanding and self-kindness.

I know how much courage it takes to reach out. Whether you're overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or just feeling a bit lost, I’m here to walk alongside you at your pace. Counselling isn't about being "fixed," it's about helping you understand yourself.

Practice description

At my practice, you can expect a therapeutic experience that is entirely tailored to your unique needs and personality. This personalized approach is rooted in my training as an integrative therapist. Essentially, being integrative means that rather than sticking to one rigid school of thought, I draw from various psychological theories and techniques—such as person-centered, cognitive, and psychodynamic approaches—to create a "best-fit" model for you. It allows us to look at your past where necessary while staying focused on your practical goals for the future.

We will always move at your own pace, ensuring you feel grounded and in control of the process. I provide a foundation of absolute confidentiality and deep empathy, creating a safe harbor where you can be your most authentic self without fear of judgment. However, growth also requires a gentle nudge; therefore, I balance this support with a healthy level of challenge. This means I will help you identify blind spots, question unhelpful patterns, and encourage the shifts in perspective needed for lasting change. Our work together is a collaborative partnership designed to help you navigate life’s complexities with renewed clarity and resilience.

My first session

To ensure we are a good fit before you commit to the process, I offer a free 15-minute introductory chat online. This initial conversation is a relaxed opportunity for us to meet, briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, and for you to ask any questions about how I work. Following this, I ask that an assessment be completed. By handling these practicalities and background details beforehand, it frees up our first full session to be entirely about you and whatever you feel like bringing to the room that day.

The first official session is primarily about getting to know one another and beginning to build the trust necessary for our work. I recognize that starting therapy can feel a bit awkward or daunting at first; it is perfectly normal to feel a little unsure of where to start or how much to say. We will navigate that initial period together at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to present a polished version of your story. Instead, we use this time to establish a rhythm and start exploring your world in a safe, supportive environment.
