About me and my therapy practice

Many adults find themselves in relationships that feel harder than they should - difficulty expressing needs, anxiety when people get close or pull away, losing themselves in relationships, or struggling to feel secure with others. These experiences often make more sense when understood through the lens of relational and attachment patterns - how we learned to connect, protect ourselves, and manage closeness and distance early in life.

I'm Layla, a BACP-registered Psychotherapist working with adults online. I specialise in relational and attachment patterns - how they formed, how they show up now, and how they change.

  • Some of the difficulties I commonly work with:
  • Rehearsing and overthinking interactions
  • Finding it hard to say what you need or how you feel
  • Avoiding conflict, or worrying about how things will land
  • Struggling to say no or hold boundaries
  • Discomfort with closeness, or anxiety when there's distance
  • Being highly self-reliant, or finding it hard to depend on others
  • Reacting quickly in the moment, then reflecting later
  • Feeling a strong need to stay in control
  • Being self-critical or frequently comparing yourself to others
  • Doubting yourself, even when things seem to be going well

We'll pay attention to these experiences as they appear in your life now. I work actively and collaboratively - offering reflection and gentle challenge, while keeping a steady, manageable pace. Over time, reactions that once felt automatic begin to make more sense. When experiences can be spoken about and met with a different kind of response, both emotional and physical reactions often start to shift - gradually settling the nervous system and making new ways of relating possible.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory Zoom call so you can get a sense of how it feels to talk to me, with no obligation to continue.

Practice description

My clinical experience comes from long-term work with clients at The Centre for Better Health in London. I have also volunteered with Mind, supporting socially isolated groups through a community-based programme.

I trained integratively, and my work is deeply informed by Attachment Theory and relational approaches to therapy.

I engage regularly in continuing professional development and receive monthly clinical supervision.

Prior to training as a therapist, I worked in leadership and business operations. Years spent building and supporting teams sparked a deep interest in the psychology behind how we behave, struggle and connect relationally - and ultimately led me to transition into therapeutic work.

What I can help with

Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, Loss, Relationships, Stress, Trauma

Types of therapy

Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Psychodynamic, Relational
