About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Rosey (she/her) an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist working in person in the Teddington area, experienced in working with both young people and adults across a wide range of concerns. These include anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and also the challenges experienced by those identifying as neurodivergent.
I draw on a range of different counselling theories and ideas, but always with the aim of finding the way of working that is best for you, as my client. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, confidential space where together we can explore the reasons that have brought you to therapy, and co-create a better future.
Sometimes, it is possible for us to make changes in life that enable us to live happier, better lives. At other times, we are not able to change the circumstances that we are finding difficult- but it can still be possible to develop new ways of understanding ourselves, our feelings, and our situations.
Practice description
I offer a free 20 minute initial call (by phone) for anyone wishing to ask questions / find out more about how we might work together before committing to a full session.
Following this, I offer 50-minute, face-to-face sessions in Teddington (close to the train station) on Tuesday afternoons and evenings and Wednesday mornings.
• Our therapy sessions will be approximately 50 minutes long.
• Generally, weekly sessions at the same time, on the same day work well - this ensures consistency which is key in therapy.
• Sessions take place in-person as this allows for a therapeutic relationship to develop more quickly as well as providing a safe space outside of the day-to-day routine
• I recommend ideally that you commit to at least 6 sessions, but we can either agree a specific number of sessions upfront (which is, of course, open to renegotiation) or work in an open-ended way.
• However, for session 1, I suggest that we meet one another with no expectation of commitment which will allow you to decide whether or not you wish to continue
• In our initial sessions, I will ask about your goals from therapy and how you’d like us to work together (I’ll have questions to prompt your thinking on this, especially if you’re new to therapy ). I’ll check in with you about our progress regularly, to ensure you’re getting what you need from therapy.
