About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Helen, a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist based in the Horsham area.
What can I help you with?
I have a particular interest in supporting women navigating issues around fertility, pregnancy loss, fertility related health issues including PCOS and endometriosis, body image, early menopause and menopause.
These are deeply personal and often isolating experiences and can have a profound impact on self-esteem, identity, and emotional wellbeing.
I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can explore the emotional impact at your own pace.
My work is grounded in both professional training and personal understanding, and I’m committed to holding space with care, creativity, and respect.
What is my approach?
I offer a down-to-earth, compassionate approach that honours your unique story. You don’t have to “have it all figured out” to start therapy, whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or simply need space to reflect, we can begin wherever you are.
Together, we’ll explore your experiences, emotions, relationships, and patterns at a pace that feels right for you.
I integrate creative and body-based approaches where appropriate. These might include visual or imaginative techniques, inner child work, and guided visualisations, especially useful for accessing deeper insight or working with trauma.
I am trained in hypnotherapy, creative therapeutic techniques, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and draw on these tools flexibly to support your goals.
My experience:
I have years of experience working with people, families and children. I have personal experience around women’s health issues and fertility. I know how tough it can be and that women who go through these types of experiences are particularly resilient, strong and brave.
If this resonates with you, then get in touch and we can start simply by having a conversation.
Therapy with me is collaborative and responsive, guided by curiosity, creativity, and care.
Practice description
At Creatively Dreaming Therapy, I offer a gentle, compassionate space for women navigating the challenges of fertility difficulties, pregnancy loss, hormonal changes, or identity transitions. These experiences can bring deep emotional pain, touching your sense of self, relationships, and hopes for the future.
My aim is to walk alongside you with warmth, empathy, and respect, creating space where you can explore your feelings freely and begin to find healing and meaning at your own pace.
My approach is humanistic and integrative, grounded in empathy and creativity. I draw on counselling, hypnotherapy, and creative therapeutic techniques to help you express and process what can sometimes feel beyond words. Together, we may use imagery, metaphor, or gentle creative tools to reconnect with your inner strength and self-compassion.
I understand that everyone’s journey is unique, whether you are processing loss, navigating fertility treatments, adjusting to hormonal or menopausal changes, or seeking to rebuild confidence and connection after trauma.
With over 30 years’ experience supporting others through change and loss, I offer sessions in person and online for adults and young people.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP and the National Hypnotherapy Society.
At Creatively Dreaming Therapy, I believe in empowering change through creativity and compassion, helping you rediscover hope, identity, and emotional balance, even through life’s tenderest seasons.
My first session
The first session is an important starting point for us to get to know each other and begin to explore what has brought you to therapy. It’s a gentle introduction to the process and an opportunity for you to see how it feels to talk with me and ask any questions you might have.
During this session, we’ll spend some time completing an information form together. This includes gathering some background details about you, such as your personal history, key life events, relationships, current support network, and any relevant health information. This helps me build a fuller picture of your world and how best to support you.
I’ll also invite you to share more about what’s led you to seek therapy at this time and what you hope to gain from it. There’s no pressure to explain everything straight away, we’ll go at your pace, and there’s no “right” way to begin. This session is as much about you getting a feel for the therapy process and deciding whether it’s the right fit for you.
You are very welcome to ask questions, about how I work, what to expect from therapy, or anything else you’re unsure about. I aim to offer a calm, open, and non-judgemental space where you can begin to feel safe and supported.
At the end of the session, if we both feel that we’re a good fit and you’d like to continue, we can arrange further sessions together. There’s no obligation to continue after the first meeting, it’s completely your choice.
The first session lasts 50 minutes and is charged at my usual rate of £60.
