About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am an integrative counsellor and founder of A Space to Be Heard.
I offer a warm, down to earth, and non judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel genuinely listened to. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or carrying things they have never said out loud before. My role is to walk alongside you with care, honesty, and compassion whuke we make sense of what you are going through together.
As an integrative therapist, I draw from person centred, relational, attachment based, and psychodynamic approaches. This means I adapt the way we work to you as an individual rather than fitting you into one fixed model.
Person centred therapy keeps you at the heart of the work and focuses on empathy, acceptance, and trust.
Attachment theory helps us understand how early relationships shape the way we connect with others now.
Psychodynamic thinking helps us explore patterns and experiences that may sit outside of your awareness but still affect how you feel and respond today.
Together, these approaches help us understand not only what is happening in your life, but why.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is key. Feeling safe, respected, and heard creates the foundation for meaningful change. We will work at a pace that feels manageable for you, with no pressure and no expectations to be anything other than yourself.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, private, and welcoming environment designed to help you feel comfortable and at ease.
Face to face sessions take place in carefully selected, professional therapy rooms in and around Peterborough, providing a confidential and discreet setting for our work together. I also offer online therapy for those who prefer the flexibility of working from home or who are based further away.
For clients who may find travelling difficult or would feel more comfortable being seen at home, I can also offer home visits where appropriate.
Wherever we meet, you will be met with the same level of care, presence, and attention.
My first session
I offer a free 15 to 20 minute telephone consultation so we can briefly explore what brings you to therapy and see whether we feel like a good fit.
If you decide to go ahead, our first full session will focus on understanding your story, your current challenges, and what you would like to gain from therapy. We will talk through confidentiality, boundaries, and any questions you may have.
There is no pressure or commitment beyond what feels right for you. Finding the right therapist is important, and you are encouraged to take your time with that decision.
