About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you've found yourself here because something doesn't feel quite right. You might be struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in your relationships, navigating a major life change, carrying grief, or simply noticing that you're not feeling like yourself anymore. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to have it all figured out before you begin.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy wanting to overcome a particular problem. As we begin talking, we often discover that what's happening today makes sense in the context of past experiences. Understanding those patterns can open the door to meaningful and lasting change.
I'm Helen, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in Tooting, South West London. I work with adults both in person and online, offering ongoing therapy and Single Session Therapy.
Before retraining, I spent over 13 years building a successful career in the corporate world across London and New York within the property and construction industry. It was a career I genuinely enjoyed and one that challenged and shaped me in many ways. During that time, I became increasingly interested in people, what helps us thrive, and the experiences that shape who we are. That growing curiosity eventually inspired me to retrain as a counsellor.
Today, I feel privileged to support others in understanding themselves more deeply and creating meaningful change. My corporate background also gives me valuable insight into the realities of modern working life, career transitions and the competing demands many people are navigating.
I believe we all make sense in the context of our experiences. My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate and collaborative space where you feel genuinely heard, supported and understood. I know that starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my hope is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, explore whatever is on your mind, and begin making sense of your experiences.
Practice description
No two people are the same, so neither is therapy.
As an integrative therapist, I adapt the way we work to suit you, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model of therapy. At the heart of my work is a person centred approach, creating a safe, trusting relationship where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. Alongside this, I draw on psychodynamic ideas to help us understand how past experiences may continue to influence the present. Where helpful, I may also incorporate mindfulness, creative techniques and inner child work.
I believe we all make sense in the context of our experiences. Together, we'll explore not only what's happening now, but also the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
I offer therapy in person from my practice in Tooting, South West London, and online via Zoom across the UK. Whether we meet face to face or online, my aim is to offer the same warm, thoughtful and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, low self esteem, burnout, perfectionism, people pleasing, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity concerns, grief, ADHD related challenges, and pregnancy, birth and early parenthood and loss, and more.
I offer both ongoing therapy and Single Session Therapy.
Ongoing therapy consists of regular 50 minute sessions, offering the time and continuity to understand yourself more deeply and create meaningful, lasting change.
Single Session Therapy is a focused, standalone session designed to help you explore one issue, decision or challenge. Many people find one session gives them the clarity they need, while others decide to continue with ongoing therapy.
Fees
Ongoing therapy: £75 per 50 minute session
Block booking: Six sessions for £420 (£70 per session)
Single Session Therapy: 60 mins £90 | 90 mins £130
My first session
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone or video consultation so we can briefly discuss what's bringing you to therapy and whether I might be the right fit for you. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether you'd like to take the next step, with no obligation to continue.
If we decide to work together, I'll invite you to complete a short questionnaire before our first session. This helps me understand a little more about you, your background and what you're hoping to gain from therapy, allowing us to make the most of our time together.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and build a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship. We'll explore what's brought you to therapy, what feels most important to you right now, and what you hope to achieve. There is no pressure to tell me everything at once or have all the answers. We'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and together we'll decide what feels most helpful to focus on.
If you've chosen Single Session Therapy, our first session is also our working session. We'll begin by agreeing a clear focus so we can make the most of our time together. For some people, one session is enough to gain clarity or move forward with confidence. Others may decide they'd benefit from ongoing therapy afterwards. There is never any expectation or pressure to continue beyond the session.
Whether you're attending in person or online, my aim is to create a warm, thoughtful and collaborative space where you feel heard, supported and able to explore whatever has brought you to therapy.
