About me and my therapy practice

Hey, do you want to try something different from going around and around in the same scenarios in your head?

Maybe you are feeling stuck, struggling with anxiety, down about yourself or just a bit bored of repeating the same old stories. Having someone really listen to those stories—gently getting to know them without judgment—can open up an entirely new space.

I bring lived experience, practical training, and a feel for the territory. Think of me as a steady companion for your journey: you lead, and I follow, helping you spot the potholes and chasms. If you do happen to fall down one, I’ll be right there to help you out. Together, we form a team. Your story is unique and of immense value; my role is to remind you of that value and help you make sense of what is happening.

We live in the present, but we are deeply shaped by our past. I will want to know about who found joy in you, and your sorrows, and the roles you’ve played in your family, work, and community.

The key to everything is relationship—your relationship with yourself, your loved ones, and the therapeutic relationship we build together. Having someone completely in your corner through thick and thin—someone empathetic, non-judgmental, and wanting the absolute best for you—is a rare experience.

Boundaries are essential for this work to feel safe. We will meet for a dedicated 50 minutes, weekly, creating a regular rhythm throughout the year. Keeping our interactions strictly within these sessions gives you the space to digest what you find and bring it into your life. My practice is strictly guided by the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Ultimately, this space is about moving toward a more trusting, authentic place within yourself—living with less doubt and fear, more courage, and a lot less harshness towards yourself.

Give yourself a break and contact me. Let's see if we can work together.

Practice description

My work is integrative, meaning I draw from a few different traditions to find exactly what suits you. My main influences are:

• Humanistic therapy: Focusing on your immense value as a human being.

• Psychodynamic therapy: Looking gently into your early relationships to see how they affect you today.

• Eastern teachings and mindfulness: My background is influenced by Buddhist practice and the concept of "basic goodness"—the understanding that beneath the struggles, there is a part of you that simply desires happiness.

Growing up, we all make compromises to adapt to our environments, often pushing parts of ourselves aside. In our sessions, we create a safe space for these cut-off parts to be seen and heard.

Our modern culture heavily emphasizes individualism, wealth, and success, which isn't healthy for our inner world. Together, we will work with what may be a harsh inner critic and work towards a more supportive, nurturing environment inside you.

By addressing your struggles at their roots, even seemingly small shifts can profoundly alter how you perceive yourself and your world. You can expect to see sustainable, long-term changes—whether that is managing anxiety, growing your self-esteem, setting firmer boundaries, or feeling more confident in your relationships.

Advanced Diploma in Counselling – Centre for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) & Mary Ward Centre (Experiential Humanistic and Psychodynamic training).

BSc in Biology (U.S.)

Clinical Experience: HQ Therapy (Haggerston), iCope NHS (Assistant Psychologist supporting Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy), Loss Foundation (Group Facilitator for bereavement), Newham Bereavement Befriending Service, and Befriender St Joseph’s Hospice.
