About me and my therapy practice

Feeling overwhelmed, suffering from burnout, like you're not 'enough', experiencing harsh inner critical voice and disconnection? Maybe life is feeling 'too much' at the moment and like can barely keep your head above water, you may be thinking 'I should be able to cope, but I'm not'.

Navigating these challenges alone can be difficult, and admitting you are struggling is the first step to NOT struggling. I can provide a supportive relationship, where you can feel heard, and understood, for what may be the first time in a long time. Together, we can explore these issues together and navigate a way through them and enable you to move forward in your life.

Hi, I’m Hayley. I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor and registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) I'm a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental person who cares about supporting people through their difficulties, offering a safe and supportive space where you can begin to explore what’s troubling you, at your own pace.

Therapy can help with many difficult life problems which we can face - from coping with traumatic experiences and events, to dealing with depression and anxiety or managing overwhelming emotions and behaviours.

Maybe you are struggling with feeling stressed with the demands of work, family and relationships, or coping with changes in your life, or feelings of low self-worth. I provide a safe, confidential space for you to talk and feel heard, to explore the issues you are facing and support you to develop the hope, strength and belief in yourself to enable change and growth. Together, we can create space to heal shame and build self-trust.

Practice description

What to expect: I tailor my approach to your needs, drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic, and gestalt approaches. I bring a creative and compassionate style to therapy to suit each individual. In a collaborative relationship, we may work with not only your thoughts and emotions, but also experientially and creatively to gain a deeper sense of self - always guided by what feels right and meaningful for you.

Trust, safety and compassion are at the heart of my work.

At the moment, I only have capacity for ONLINE, so your sessions can be from the comfort of your own home, you can even have your pet there with you if you have one.

Many of the people I work with come seeking support for anxiety, low self-esteem, and deep-rooted questions around self-worth. I also have experience supporting those who are healing from spiritual abuse or harmful religious experiences - helping them reconnect with their own inner voice, values, and autonomy.

After 20+ years in Education as a Teacher, I made a career change to become a therapist to continue to use my skills in understanding and helping people and supporting them to reach their true potential.

With my experience as an teacher, I’ve seen the results of burnout and I understand the exhaustion, hopelessness and anxiety that involves.

Since retraining as a therapist, I’ve supported dozens of clients to make the changes in their life that have given them more freedom and a work life balance.

Our work together might involve exploring the roots of your struggles, making sense of painful experiences, and gently uncovering new ways of relating to yourself and others. My aim is to walk alongside you with empathy and care. Helping you feel more understood, grounded, empowered, and at home in yourself.

About me and my therapy practice

Do you spend so much time looking after everyone else that you've lost touch with yourself?

Perhaps you struggle to say no, worry about disappointing people, or feel responsible for keeping everyone else happy. Over time, this can leave you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or like you're simply not 'enough'.

You may be experiencing burnout, anxiety, low self-esteem or a harsh inner critical voice, and wondering why you're finding things difficult when you feel you should be able to cope.

You don't have to work it all out alone.

Hi, I'm Hayley. I'm a qualified Integrative Counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer a warm, compassionate and down-to-earth space where you can feel heard and understood, perhaps for the first time in a long time.

Together, we can explore what's happening for you and begin to understand the patterns, beliefs and experiences that may have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others. We can explore what you need, what matters to you, and what may be getting in the way of living a life that feels more authentic to you.

My approach draws from person-centred, psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches, and I tailor our work to you. Where helpful, we may also work creatively or experientially to gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Therapy can be a space to develop healthier boundaries, greater self-compassion and self-trust, and reconnect with your own needs, values, feelings and sense of self.

I also have experience supporting people recovering from spiritual abuse or harmful religious experiences, helping them reconnect with their own inner voice, values and autonomy.

I work with adults aged 18+ and have experience supporting people with people-pleasing, burnout, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-criticism, stress, relationship difficulties, loss and grief, and difficult or painful experiences.
