About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling lost, or finding that life’s challenges are becoming a little too much to carry on your own? Whether you’re living with anxiety, depression, past trauma, or simply feeling low, you don’t have to face it alone. When self-esteem or confidence is low, it can be hard to reach out to friends or family — and that’s completely understandable. Therapy can offer a safe and supportive space to gently explore what’s going on inside and help you reconnect with your own voice.

I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can feel truly heard — without judgement, guilt, or shame. A space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to understand yourself more deeply. My approach is grounded in genuine human connection, and I see therapy as walking alongside you, at your pace, as you work towards improved mental wellbeing.

If you’re new to therapy, or feeling ready to try something different, taking that first step can feel daunting. Please know that you’re not expected to have all the answers — I’m here to support you whenever you feel ready.

Practice description

Person-Centred Therapy is all about you. There is no 'one size fits all' in this approach, and this mode of therapy believes the client is the expert in themselves. With some space to think and feel, the time to say what's truly on your mind and in your heart, hearing your own thoughts and feelings reflected back to you, you can find the peace you have been searching for.

My approach: to help you explore what is really holding you back, to help you reset negative thoughts patterns and behaviours.

My aim: for you to connect with me as an empathic listener in a safe and nurturing space to enable you to restore your equilibrium, confidence and faith in your own inner voice.

My hope: our shared exploration of your inner thoughts and feelings will help you resolve what has been holding you back and help shape decisions and move forward.

Whilst PCT doesn't seek to advise or direct the client, you may feel you would like a more challenging approach - and that is totally fine. As the expert in yourself, I am happy to be guided by your feedback on how direct you would like me to be.

If you are client whose process needs to be gently held, my training in trauma-informed practice will ensure you feel safe at all times and at no point will you be directed to look at anything that is too painful or triggering for you.

My first session

Our first session is all about making sure you feel safe and comfortable to go ahead with our therapy relationship.

You will receive an assessment and confidentiality agreement  prior to this first session, so we can start to get to know each other straight away on a human level, without paperwork getting in the way of making a connection.

The paperwork is important to the process, but this first session will be checking you are happy with what you have shared and will allow us time and space to explore what is it you really want to achieve from therapy and how I might be able to help you get there.

At the end of this first, we will decide together if we are a 'good fit' for booking in further sessions. There is no obligation for a set number of sessions, and these can take place weekly or fortnightly. However, if you are new to therapy, it is usually helpful to start with weekly sessions, to cushion the potential impact of unpacking those stored emotions.
