I currently have some availability for sessions and can offer flexible sessions throughout the day and evenings from Monday-Saturday.About me and my therapy practice
I’m Christina, a counsellor with over several years experience specialising in relationship trauma and narcissistic & domestic abuse recovery. I worked as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor helping individuals escape and recover from abuse alongside completing a masters degree in coercive control.
I support adults who are struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and the lasting impact of trauma. You may be questioning your memories, feeling overwhelmed, or finding it difficult to move on after a toxic or abusive relationship. I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can make sense of your experiences. Therapy can help you develop self-trust, improve self-esteem, and build healthier, more secure relationships.
Many of my clients feel stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns, including people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, fear of abandonment, or feeling responsible for others’ emotions. I work with issues including emotional abuse, trauma bonds, heartbreak, childhood trauma, attachment wounds, and sexual trauma.
My approach is integrative and trauma-informed. I draw on attachment-based therapy, inner child and parts work, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), alongside self-compassion approaches. I also offer practical tools to support anxiety and trauma symptoms, including grounding techniques, emotional regulation, breathwork, and somatic techniques.
I am trained in the Rewind Technique for trauma, which can help process distressing memories in a gentle and contained way.
I also specialise in disordered eating and body image, supporting you to develop a more compassionate relationship with food and your body. I can help you to break cycles of bingeing and restriction, supporting you to feel less anxious and out of control around food.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’ve experienced trauma, anxiety, or difficult relationships, so I aim to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and not judged. I aim to balance empathy and compassion alongside offering you practical tools and techniques to work through your mental health and relationships.
I work with young people (14+) and adults. I also work with couples for those looking to improve their relationships and communication.
I offer both face-to-face counselling and online therapy across the UK.
I offer a range of session lengths to suit your availability and what works for you ranging from:
‘Mini’ sessions: 30 mins
Standard sessions: 60 mins
‘Maxi’ sessions: 1.5 hours
Sessions can also vary in frequency from weekly, to every other week or monthly sessions.
Before starting, I offer a free initial call. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, and get a sense of whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.
My first session
If you decide to go ahead, our first full session is a gentle and collaborative space where we begin to explore your experiences in more depth. There is no pressure to share everything at once, we will go at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
In this session, I may ask some questions about your current difficulties, your background, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This helps me to understand your needs and begin to shape the work in a way that feels supportive and relevant to you. If you are coming to therapy following trauma or difficult relationships, we will prioritise creating a sense of safety and stability before exploring anything in depth.
I do not require you to complete formal assessments, although I may occasionally suggest simple check-ins to help us reflect on how you’re feeling and how the therapy is progressing.
We will also go through practical details such as confidentiality, session structure, and boundaries, so you feel clear and informed about how we will work together.
My aim in the first session is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported, while beginning to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding.
