I offer in-person sessions from a warm and welcoming private therapy space close to the centre of Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
Alternatively, we can harness the restorative power of nature and conduct our sessions whilst walking together. Please talk to me if you interested in learning more about how this works.
Finally, if you prefer, I am happy to meet with you online.
I work flexibly, offering both open ended and time limited counselling to people over the age of 18, at a time to suit you.
About me and my therapy practice
I'm Ged, a qualified counsellor based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
My practice is grounded in a person-centred approach: I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to provide a safe, confidential space for you to explore challenges at your own pace.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches to suit your needs, whether you want to focus on current difficulties or explore how your past shapes your present.
I aim to be compassionate and straightforward in our sessions, and I’ll gently challenge you when it’s helpful. For example, if I notice you’re avoiding a difficult topic, I might point this out and invite us to explore what’s making it hard to talk about. If you’re stuck in self-criticism, I’ll be honest about what I’m hearing and encourage you to consider a different perspective. My goal is to help you face challenges directly, but always at a pace that feels safe for you.

My first session
Looking for a therapist can feel daunting, and finding the right person for you is important. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to get a chance to talk to one another, discuss what you are looking for and to see if we can find a regular time that works for you.
If you decide you would like to, we will then arrange an initial session, either online or in person. This first session is exploratory – a chance for me to learn more about you and your hopes for therapy, and for you to get a sense of how I work. If you feel I am the right therapist for you, we can then move to regular sessions, usually once a week for 50 minutes.
