About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Lizzie, a qualified Integrative Counsellor.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or unsure how to make space for yourself amidst the demands of everyday life. Perhaps you’re used to putting others first, masking how much you’re carrying, or feeling misunderstood in your experiences. Counselling can offer a place to slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and feel supported in finding a way forward that feels right for you.

I retrained as a counsellor because I care deeply about accessible, inclusive support that adapts to real lives — not the other way around. I feel privileged to hear people’s stories and to walk alongside my clients as they explore their experiences at their own pace. I aim to offer a safe, comfortable, and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself.

Alongside working with a wide range of adults and young people, I have particular experience supporting neurodivergent clients and parent carers, informed by both lived and professional experience. This has shaped my understanding of how important it is for counselling to feel flexible, attuned, and tailored to each individual.

My work is grounded in a Person-Centred approach, with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work. I believe each client’s experience is unique, and I work collaboratively to create a warm, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences safely.

I work at a pace that feels right for you and aim to support self-understanding, self-compassion, and empowerment. I also enjoy working creatively where helpful, and may offer options such as visuals, drawing, or objects of reference to support self-exploration — always guided by what feels comfortable for you.

Practice description

offer integrative counselling grounded in a person-centred approach, with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of my work. I aim to provide a calm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for them.

I work collaboratively and flexibly, recognising that each client’s needs are unique. Where appropriate, I may incorporate creative or visual methods to support self-exploration, always guided by the client’s preferences. I place importance on accessibility and aim to adapt my approach to suit different communication styles, sensory needs, and ways of processing.

I work with adults and young people aged 12+. Clients come to me for a range of reasons, including anxiety, stress, low mood, burnout, caring responsibilities, emotional overwhelm, identity exploration, and relationship difficulties. Some clients seek counselling during periods of change or when they feel stuck, while others come for space to focus on their own wellbeing.

I offer both face-to-face and online counselling. I am mindful that different ways of working suit different people and will work with clients to consider which format feels most supportive for them.

I have particular experience working with neurodivergent clients and parent carers, informed by both lived and professional experience. This includes supporting individuals who are exploring or awaiting a diagnosis, as well as those navigating the emotional impact of caring roles. I am committed to offering an inclusive, respectful, and confidential service in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.

My first session

At this time, I am offering online, telephone and limited in person, counselling to clients based in the UK. To discuss your counselling needs, please get in touch and we can arrange a free 15 minute consultation to explore your reasons for coming to counselling. Counselling is a place where you can be vulnerable and as a client you have autonomy over who the person you want to explore with. By completing a consultation, we can decide whether I am the best person to support you.

Your first session will compromise of an assessment where we explore your reasons for coming to counselling, your wellbeing and an agreement on how we will work together.

Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and are normally a weekly fixed session. Each session is £60.00 with discount offered to those in receipt of Disability Allowance, Carer’s Allowance or are a student (evidence of reward required).

To discuss your individual counselling needs, please get in touch to arrange a consultation.
