About me and my therapy practice

If you’ve already looked through a few therapist listings, you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed or unsure about how to choose the right person to talk to. That’s completely understandable — finding someone who feels like a good fit is an important step.

I offer a warm, collaborative and down-to-earth space where all parts of you are welcome — especially the parts that may feel unseen, stuck, or in conflict. I won’t give you advice or quick fixes, but I will walk alongside you as you begin to notice what’s happening in your life with more clarity and compassion. I bring curiosity, honesty, and empathy to our work, with a focus on what’s emerging in the present moment.

I work with a relational and creative approach, grounded in the principles of Gestalt psychotherapy. Gestalt is an experiential, here-and-now therapy that focuses on raising awareness — of your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and how you relate to others and the world around you. With greater self-awareness, we open the door to more choice, deeper understanding, and lasting change.

My path into psychotherapy has not been traditional — I’ve worked in design, hospitality, the building trades and now as a craftsman, running my own artisan business (Made by Greig). These varied experiences have all shaped how I work. I draw from creativity, groundedness, practical thinking, and deep listening — all of which are essential to my therapeutic practice.

I’m an advocate for autonomy, choice and change. I believe that with awareness, support and a genuine desire to grow, meaningful change is always possible — even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. Gestalt therapy, which I’ve been immersed in for over a decade, helped me reconnect with my own sense of choice and possibility. It’s what inspired me to support others in finding the same. My experience helped me see that the old saying “a leopard can’t change its spots” doesn’t hold true. We can change. We can grow. And we don’t have to do it alone.

Practice description

I work with adults of all backgrounds who are looking for meaningful change in their lives. You may be coming to therapy because you're feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, or lost. Maybe you’re going through a difficult transition, struggling with relationships, or questioning your direction or identity. Whatever brings you here, you are welcome.

Gestalt therapy is a creative and holistic approach that focuses on your present experience. It’s not just about talking through problems — it’s about exploring how you experience them in the moment. That might include noticing what you feel in your body, how you relate to emotions, or how you respond in relationships. We may also work with metaphor, imagery, movement, or creative exercises if that feels right for you.

My practice is guided by values of autonomy, choice, and respect. I won’t tell you what to do or push you to change — I’ll help you discover your own path, in your own time. Our work together is about making space for all parts of you, even the ones that may feel difficult or hidden.

Sessions are held in a quiet, confidential space where you can feel safe to express whatever’s on your mind or in your heart. Whether you're new to therapy or returning after time away, I aim to make the process feel approachable and supportive.

My first session

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin to explore what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been going on for you, what you might want to be different in your life, and what you hope to get from our work together. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out — this is your space to begin exploring, at your own pace.

It’s also your opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for whether I might be the right fit for you as a therapist. A strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of effective therapy, so it’s important that you feel comfortable, safe, and understood.

We’ll talk about practicalities too — like how often we’ll meet (usually weekly, though sometimes more frequent sessions can be helpful in the early stages), fees, and boundaries. If we both decide to continue, we can discuss an initial agreement for a number of sessions, after which we’ll review how things are going and decide together on the next steps.

I aim to make your first session as relaxed and welcoming as possible. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance — just bring yourself, as you are.
