Practice description

Whether you’re trying to manage specific challenges or deal with self-destructive behaviours like addiction, relationship issues or trauma, I am here to enable you to develop a greater understanding and connection with yourself and others and am here to accompany you on the journey towards well-being and recovery.

The following areas fall within the scope of my training, expertise and practical experience:

Addiction. Recovery & Support

Relational or Developmental Trauma (C-PTSD)

Anxiety, stress management and burnout

Shame, guilt and self-criticism

Negative self-image

Problems with relationships like co-dependency & interpersonal challenges

Emotional dysregulation and difficulties with emotions

Well-being and personal development

Therapy provides you with a supportive, non-judgmental and confidential environment in which to explore any emotional, psychological or practical problems you may be encountering.

As a therapist, I will not make decisions for you or impose my own opinions but I will respect your individual needs. Throughout this process, you will be encouraged, supported and empowered to look at yourself from a different perspective. The aim is not only to help you cope with a current issue or crisis but to do so in a way that produces learning for the future so you can feel more in control of your own life. Taking responsibility is an important part of this commitment.

My professional approach is compassionate, warm and down to earth and my aim is to recognise the experience of you as an individual and to treat you with respect and integrity without making assumptions based on age, race, sexual orientation, physical ability, gender, class, or spiritual belief.

My first session

In your first session, we will discuss what it is you want for yourself and what you would like to explore.

We will discuss an assessment which I would like you to do by our next meeting which will provide me with a broad picture of your background and other areas of your life and behaviours that you may find problematic.

Together we can then, work out an ongoing treatment plan, which will be adapted and which will evolve as we work together to explore and process what is going on for you in subsequent sessions.
