About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Jess - the therapist behind Jess Rose Therapy.
My personal approach is that therapy is most useful as a two-way conversation, and I believe that the relationship of trust and connection we build between us is vital to the work we can do together.
I believe that therapy can be life changing and, more importantly, life improving. This is because I know that everyone can grow and develop and therefore benefit from counselling, whether you are trying to resolve trauma or to work through the never-ending challenges that life seems to throw at you. I believe that therapy is an investment in yourself - it is not selfish to look after yourself or to talk about your mental health and well-being.
We all have our own challenges and complexities in life and we all do our best with the resources and tools we have. Sometimes it might feel like you are playing with the difficulty ramped up while everyone else seems to have a cheat code. If you ever feel this way then seeking therapy/counselling help might be helpful.
Therapy is not the same for everyone - one size does not fit all and you are unique which means that your experiences and feelings are too. I know that finding the right therapist can be really challenging; in a world full of people making promises it is important to find someone who genuinely understands and supports your journey.
Practice description
I am a BACP registered integrative therapist, which means I am trained to use a variety of therapy modalities, including person-centred, psychodynamic, transactional analysis and gestalt theories. I also work in a trauma-informed way. This means I can tailor my approach to your personal needs and I can also use psychoeducation and creative counselling to support our sessions.
I am dedicated to providing you with a warm, compassionate and empathic accepting space, with no judgement, so that you can feel safe to share and explore your feelings, emotions and thoughts at your own pace.
I am passionate about providing a safe space where you can do the work necessary to achieve this. I can walk beside you and together we can start looking at what is worrying you, and how we can make things better.
