About me and my therapy practice

I am a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor with NHS experience. I offer a warm, safe and confidential space in which you can explore what feels most important to you and whatever might be troubling you. I know that life can be difficult and distressing and that being human can feel complex and complicated. At times we may experience loneliness, pain, anxiety, trauma, despair, isolation, loss, ‘stuck-ness’, or a lack of connection. Sometimes we suffer and cannot explain or reason why.

As a therapist I utilise concepts, skills and techniques from a wide range of theories and teachings. My work is grounded in trauma informed practice and rooted in kindness.

Primarily guided by you, we will dialogue and explore your present experiences, poignant memories, thoughts, feelings and dreams. I hope to help you feel a greater sense of ease and confidence in your mind and in your body as you navigate the ever-changing world we live in.

In our work together, I might explore with you the ways in which culture, race, society, and family have shaped your ‘sense of self’ and feelings of belonging. Experience has taught me that throughout our lives we can easily become disconnected from who we are. I value your worth and know that therapy offers the potential to restore what might have been lost and open new possibilities.

Before training as a counsellor, I worked as a primary school teacher for many years in a number of different countries and have significant experience of building relationships with people of all ages and facilitating growth.

I would love to hear from you.
