About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or struggling to make sense of a difficult period in your life. You may be experiencing depression, loss, uncertainty, relationship challenges, health issues, or a sense that something important is missing. Counselling can provide a space to explore these experiences and find a way forward.
I am a qualified transpersonal counsellor trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London, with over 30 years' experience supporting people in various therapeutic and helping roles. My current approach is rooted in psychosynthesis, a form of therapy that explores not only emotional difficulties and life experiences, but also questions of meaning, purpose, identity and personal growth.
I have a particular interest in working with people from migrant backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those living with chronic health conditions. I understand that experiences of belonging, identity, difference, illness and change can have a profound impact on how we see ourselves and engage with life.
Alongside my counselling work, I am an experienced natural health practitioner, astrologer and yoga teacher. If you are interested in exploring not only emotional challenges but also deeper questions of meaning, purpose and personal development, my approach may be a good fit for you.
"I believe that emotional healing and personal growth are closely connected, and that difficult life experiences can also become opportunities for greater self-understanding, meaning and transformation."
Practice description
Every person is unique, so I tailor my approach to your individual needs and circumstances. Our primary way of working will be through talking therapy, but I may also draw on a range of creative and experiential techniques, including writing, drawing and chair work, where these feel helpful and appropriate.
My aim is to provide a safe, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where all aspects of your experience can be explored. Together, we can work towards greater self-understanding, resilience, clarity and a deeper connection with yourself and your life.
Drawing on my wider experience in health and wellbeing, we may occasionally discuss practices that could support your overall wellbeing, such as yoga, mindfulness or other complementary approaches. Any such discussions will always be guided by your interests, needs and preferences, and counselling remains at the heart of our work together.
The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful counselling. For this reason, I generally recommend allowing up to six sessions for us to determine whether we are a good fit. If I believe another therapist would be better suited to your needs, I will do my best to help you find appropriate support.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and to explore what has brought you to counselling at this point in your life. I will ask questions about your background, current circumstances and the difficulties or concerns you would like to address.
We will also discuss how we might work together and agree a therapeutic contract, ensuring that expectations, boundaries and practical arrangements are clear from the outset.
There will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me. From there, we can begin to identify your goals and develop a therapeutic process that supports your unique journey.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified transpersonal counsellor trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London. I specialise in working with people from migrant backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ community and those living with chronic health conditions. I have experience of working with depression, anxiety and loss of purpose and meaning as well as the sense of overwhelm and despair that life’s challenges sometimes bring. I have been working with people in various therapeutic roles for over 30 years. I am also an experienced natural health practitioner, astrologer and yoga teacher. If you are looking to work with someone who has a broader spiritual perspective on life, then I might be right for you. When we enter the world, we are unique souls who need to be loved, seen, and cared for unconditionally. Regardless of how good our upbringing has been, many of us grow up feeling unseen and unheard and ultimately end up losing sight of who we really are.
Psychosynthesis is the process of re- integrating those lost parts of ourselves—not only the painful facets of our past, but also the potential of who we could become. use a variety of tools to help you gain insight into how you feel about your life, what you really want and what you don't want. I am there to support and help you navigate through your personal difficulties.
Why choose to work with me?
I continue to work holistically when working with clients as I believe that mind, feelings and body all work together.
Therapy is rarely a quick fix. The key to lasting change is establishing a strong therapeutic alliance built on trust and to work co-creatively towards agreed goals.
Practice description
Most of our work will revolve around processing through talk therapy but there may be times when we need to use other tools like Emotional Freedom Technique, free drawing or free writing to unlock what may be getting in the way.
I have worked with a variety of clients particularly from the LGBTQ+ community and people living with challenging health conditions.
I have also worked with addictive behaviour and trauma but cannot work with alcoholism or drug addiction unless you are also in recovery.
I work with eating disorders but cannot work with anorexia unless you are already under medical supervision.
Once we agree to work together, I recommend a minimum of 4-6 sessions after which we can decide if the work is beneficial to you or not.
Sessions may be cancelled if I am away but if you are away, the dates need to be agreed in advance or rescheduled otherwise sessions are chargeable.
I am always available for email enquiries but any personal matters need to be brought into the sessions. I am not generally available by phone.
My first session
In our first session, we get to know each other to see if we want to work together. Sometimes it is not a good fit so I may refer you on to someone more appropriate for your needs.
We will also agree to how we will work together and what the fee will be. I have a 48 hour cancellation policy but am usually able to reschedule a session if need be.
I will invite you to talk about what brings you to therapy and why now. In the context of your presenting problem, I will ask you about your personal history including your upbringing, parenting, socio-economic background and heritage so that I get to know you. I usually record what you tell me in a passworded document on my computer in the first session.
