About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor with many years of life experience.
Seeking counselling can feel like a significant step, particularly if you are going through a difficult or uncertain time in your life. I offer a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can talk openly about what is troubling you without fear of judgement.
I am committed to providing a compassionate and respectful environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. My aim is to help you gain greater understanding, clarity, and confidence as you work through the challenges you may be facing.
My approach to counselling is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives to tailor the work to your individual needs. I place great importance on building a trusting therapeutic relationship, as research consistently shows that the quality of the relationship between counsellor and client is a key factor in effective therapy.
People seek counselling for many different reasons. You may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety or low mood, experiencing difficulties in relationships, coping with loss, or simply feeling that something in your life is not quite right. Counselling can provide the time and space to reflect on these experiences and begin to make sense of them.
I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. I aim to create an inclusive and non-judgemental environment where each person feels respected and understood.
My role as a counsellor is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, helping you develop insight, resilience, and new ways of understanding yourself and the situations you face.
Practice description
I provide a confidential, non-judgemental and supportive therapeutic space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences safely.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives to meet each client’s individual needs. These may include:
Person-centred therapy – creating a safe and empathic environment where clients feel heard and understood
Psychodynamic awareness – exploring how past experiences may influence present feelings and behaviours
Reflective exploration – supporting clients to develop deeper self-awareness and personal insight
I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is central to effective counselling, and I work collaboratively with clients at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
Therapy can help with understanding difficult emotions, improving relationships, and developing new ways of coping with life’s challenges.
What I Charge Per Session
My standard fee is:
£30 per 50-minute session
Reduced-fee spaces may occasionally be available for students or those experiencing financial hardship.
Initial consultations are charged at the standard session rate and provide an opportunity to discuss your needs and determine whether counselling feels right for you.

My first session
Your first counselling session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to counselling, and consider how we might work together.
Many people feel a little nervous before their first appointment, which is completely understandable. My aim is to create a safe, welcoming, and confidential space where you can talk openly at your own pace.
During the first session we may:
Discuss what has led you to seek counselling at this time
Explore what you would like support with
Talk about your expectations or hopes for therapy
Consider any relevant background information that may help me understand your situation
Discuss how counselling works and agree on practical arrangements such as confidentiality, session frequency, and fees
You are not expected to share everything straight away, and there is no pressure to talk about anything you are not ready to discuss.
The first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me, as the relationship between counsellor and client is an important part of effective therapy.
If we both feel that counselling together would be helpful, we can arrange ongoing sessions at a pace that suits you.
