About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life can feel heavy and difficult to carry on your own. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, or thoughts that leave you feeling stuck or unsure of yourself. At times like these, having someone who listens with care and without judgement can make a real difference.
As a counsellor, I believe that feeling safe, respected and understood is an important part of the therapeutic process. My aim is to offer a warm and supportive space where you can talk openly about what is on your mind, even if it feels confusing or hard to put into words.
I am an Integrative counsellor registered with the BACP and I also use CBT in my work. This gives us the flexibility to explore what may be most helpful for you in therapy.
I work with people from different backgrounds and experiences, including those who may be living away from their home country and adjusting to life in a new culture. Whatever brings you to counselling, my intention is to walk alongside you with understanding and care as you explore what you are going through.
Practice description
I support adults and young people who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood, low self-esteem, or ongoing negative thoughts. These difficulties can sometimes leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in patterns that are hard to change.
In our sessions, you will have time and space to talk about what is happening in your life and how it is affecting you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. We can take things slowly and focus on what feels most important for you.
Alongside talking about your experiences, we may also explore patterns in thoughts or behaviours that could be contributing to how you feel. When appropriate, I use CBT techniques to help you notice and respond differently to unhelpful thought patterns.
Sessions take place in a confidential and supportive environment, and I also offer online counselling if attending in person feels difficult or inconvenient.
My first session
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. It’s not always easy to talk to someone new about personal things, so it’s important that you feel comfortable with the counsellor you choose.
For this reason, I offer a free 15-minute phone call before booking a first session. This gives us a chance to talk a little about what has brought you to counselling and for you to ask any questions you may have. It can also help you get a sense of who I am and whether you might feel comfortable working with me.
There is no pressure or obligation to continue afterwards. You can take your time to decide what feels right for you.
