About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Vicky. I know that life can feel overwhelming at times, especially if you're someone who's used to coping by yourself or supporting others.

You may be struggling with anxious thoughts, difficult relationships or feeling low or disconnected. Perhaps you are looking for help to feel more like yourself again, or carrying something which feels too difficult to talk about with family or friends.

Now may be the time to focus on you.

Whatever brings you to therapy, I'll meet you with a warm welcome.

How I work

My own experiences have shaped not only who I am, but how I work. I believe that counselling isn't about fixing or diagnosing, it's about building where you can feel truly heard and understood. I work in a non-judgemental, respectful and caring way, and I won't assume that I know what's best for you or tell you what to do.

As well as working with adults, in person and online, in private practice, I also volunteer for a national bereavement charity and a local low cost counselling agency.

In all of these settings I have witnessed how the relationship between counsellor and client plays a central role in effective therapy. Feeling understood and accepted can make a real difference to the work we do together.

Practice description

What will the sessions be like?

I'm a person centred counsellor which means that in or sessions you'll choose what you want to talk about and you'll set the pace. I'll be honest and open and may sometimes challenge, to do my best to understand.

Therapy isn't always easy, but talking through and processing difficult feelings and experiences with the support of a counsellor can bring relief and self-acceptance.

Everyone's experience is unique and I'll do my best to understand yours.

Where I work

I work from quiet, comfortable rooms in Hove and have some online sessions available.
