About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Counsellor working with adults, children and young people. Alongside my counselling qualification and experience, I bring nearly 20 years experience supporting people through distressing and life altering circumstances within a high intensity professional environment. I am calm, grounded and not easily shaken, and I understand how deeply life events can shape us.
I have also spent time in the client chair myself. My own therapy experience has been one of the most significant pieces of personal growth in my life. It keeps me reflective, self-aware and honest in my work. I don’t see therapy as something you offer from a distance, I see it as something you truly understand by having experienced it yourself.
People come to counselling for many reasons. Some are in crisis. Others are functioning well on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck or unsettled underneath. You don’t need to have the right words. You don’t need a neat story. You just need to show up. Part of our work can be making sense of what feels unclear.
Practice description
As an integrative counsellor I tailor therapy to you rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. I draw from CBT, psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, but the most important factor in my work is the relationship we build. I work collaboratively, at your pace, with warmth and straight-talking compassion.
Clients describe me as warm but direct, calm under pressure, and easy to talk to. My aim is that you feel fully able to be yourself in the room, without judgement and without needing to minimise what you have lived through.
I work face to face, online, telephone and I have an outdoor area if you prefer.
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) (M414922), working in accordance with their Ethical Framework.
If you are considering counselling, you are welcome to get in touch to see whether we feel like the right fit.
