About me and my therapy practice
I understand that life can be not only challenging, but can feel overwhelming – like an uphill battle, often with ourselves. It can seem unfair, presenting us with difficult situations that may lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, shame or grief that are hard to face alone.
Whatever unpleasant/ uncomfortable feelings you are experiencing right now, you do not have to face them alone. You are worthy of receiving the support you may never have had, and it would be my honour to walk alongside you to help navigate these challenges. Whatever it is that is troubling you, we can begin to resolve it at your pace. Together we can explore what’s painful, unresolved, or uncertain in your life, and help you to move toward wholeness, clarity and inner strength.
Practice description
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to respond to your individual needs. I see the therapeutic relationship as central to supporting meaningful change and helping you find a new sense of direction. My work is grounded in creating the right conditions for personal growth, while also exploring how past experiences may be shaping your present and contributing to unhelpful patterns. I take a holistic view, recognising the connection between mind and body, and aim to support you in bringing together all aspects of yourself.
I aim to offer a warm, safe and confidential space where you can explore what has brought you to counselling. A space where you feel listened to, respected, and understood. I strive to create an empathic environment where you can share at a pace that feels right for you. I will work alongside you, supporting you as you move towards the changes you want to make.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute phone call to establish whether my way of working resonates with you and to get a sense of whether I may be the right counsellor for you.
If you feel you would like to take the next step, and I feel I am able to provide what you are looking for, we can arrange an initial 50-minute session. During this session, you might choose to elaborate on what is troubling you and/ or what you would like to focus on if we were to work together. Of course, it is OK if you are not entirely sure, but feel like something isn't quite right.
Following this session, you can decide whether you would like to proceed with further sessions.
