About me and my therapy practice

You may be thinking about counselling because something feels difficult, even if you cannot quite put it into words yet. Perhaps you feel anxious, stuck or unsure of your direction, but have no one you feel able to talk to about it. You might feel misunderstood, different from those around you, or alone with what you are experiencing.

These feelings can become more noticeable during times of change: navigating relationships, parenting or family life, leaving university, changing jobs, or moving between places and cultures. They can also arise without a clear reason. Whatever has brought you here, we can begin with what is on your mind and take time to understand it together.

I’m Nadia, an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor working online with adults, and a registered member of the BACP. I offer a calm, compassionate and confidential space where you can speak without judgement. I work relationally, listening carefully and offering thoughtful, gently challenging reflection as we explore your experiences, relationships and the patterns you may be noticing in your life.

MY BACKGROUND

Alongside my private practice, I work with clients at Mind and Headstrong Counselling.

My Master’s degree in Health Policy and years of professional experience in health-related fields have contributed to my awareness of the broader social, cultural and systemic factors that can shape mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Cross-cultural and international experiences are also an important area of understanding in my work. This includes the challenges of moving between places, cultures and identities, as well as the experiences of adults who grew up between different countries or cultures, sometimes described as Third Culture Kids (TCKs).

Across my work, I have supported clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, relationships, identity, self-understanding, self-esteem, boundaries and ADHD.

Practice description

I work online, which offers flexibility around your schedule and location. Sessions are £70 for 50 minutes and are available in English or French. To keep counselling as accessible as possible, I also offer a small number of reduced-fee sessions on a sliding scale.

MY APPROACH

I work integratively, drawing from different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs, including person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT-informed ways of working.

My work is rooted in empathy, collaboration and reflection. We can explore patterns, emotions and experiences more deeply, working towards greater clarity and self-understanding — creating space to quiet the noise and support meaningful growth and change.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (CPCAB)

• BA Economics and Social Studies of Medicine (McGill)

• MSc Health Policy — London School of Economics (LSE)

• Business and Personal Coach Training (ICF-accredited Level 2, Barefoot Coaching)

GETTING IN TOUCH

I offer a free 20-minute phone or Zoom consultation before booking a first session. This is a chance for you to tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions and find out more about how I work. It also gives us a chance to talk and see whether you feel comfortable with me and whether my way of working feels right for you.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for me to understand more about you, what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping to gain from therapy. As part of this, I will carry out an initial assessment, asking about your current circumstances, relevant background and any difficulties you may be experiencing.

We will take this at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There will also be time for you to ask questions, and there is no expectation to share anything before you feel ready.

MY BACKGROUND

Alongside my private practice, I work with clients at Mind and Headstrong Counselling. I have supported people exploring anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, boundaries, ADHD, identity and their sense of self.

I have a particular interest in cross-cultural experiences and life transitions. Moving between countries or cultures, especially while growing up, can shape your sense of home, belonging and identity. You may recognise this if you grew up across cultures, sometimes described as being a Third Culture Kid, or if changes in where you live have left you wondering where you fit.

Before training as a therapist, I worked in health-related fields. My Master’s degree in Health Policy and that professional experience continue to inform my awareness of the social and cultural circumstances that shape people’s lives.
