Most people find their way here after a while of not finding the right words for what's wrong. You don't need to have it figured out. If something's pulling you toward therapy, that's usually enough to start. I offer a free call so we can get a sense of whether working together feels right.
About me and my therapy practice
I'm a BACP-registered integrative therapist based in Bristol. I work with adults navigating a range of difficulties — though my particular focus is on addiction, shame, self-esteem, and the relational patterns that tend to sit underneath both.
People often come to therapy when something that used to work — a coping strategy, a way of relating, a story they told themselves — has stopped working. That moment of fracture can feel like crisis, or it can be quieter: a slow erosion of confidence, a creeping sense of disconnection, a habit that's become harder to ignore. Whatever's brought you here, I'm interested in understanding it with you rather than rushing past it.
My approach is relational at its core. I believe that how we are in the room together — what gets activated, what goes unsaid, what shifts — is itself therapeutic material. I draw on psychodynamic and depth psychological thinking (including Jungian ideas), Gestalt, and humanistic practice, adapting to what each person needs rather than applying a single method.
I aim to bring warmth, directness, and a genuine curiosity to the work. Therapy with me tends to be exploratory rather than prescriptive — though I'll offer observations and challenges where I think they'll be useful. I take your pace seriously, and I'll check in with you about how we're working together as we go.
Located: Online.
Fees: £55 - £70 per 50 minute session, income dependent. Some low cost slots available.
Practice description
My core aim is to help you develop a more spacious relationship with your inner life — to move from reacting on autopilot to having genuine choice in how you meet yourself and others.
Much of what brings people to therapy — anxiety, shame, compulsive patterns, fractured relationships — involves a kind of narrowing: a loss of perspective on one's own experience. The work is often about widening that field, bringing light into corners that have been avoided, and discovering that what felt intolerable can be met.
I have a particular interest in addiction and shame, and have worked extensively with clients for whom these are central. This includes 12-step-informed work for those who find that framework meaningful, alongside more depth-psychological and relational approaches for those who don't. I'm also comfortable working with men on issues around identity, anger, and emotional life — areas that often go under-addressed.
My first session
Our first session is a consultation — a chance to tell me what's brought you to therapy, and to get a feel for how I work. I'll ask questions, but there's no pressure to have a polished account of yourself. I'm interested in what you actually bring, not what you think you should say.
I'll also tell you a bit about myself and my approach. At the end, I'll invite you to reflect on whether this feels like a good fit — and I mean that genuinely. If we're not the right match, I'll do my best to help you find someone who might be.
