About me and my therapy practice
Hello,
My name is Imogen. I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health and physical well-being with individuals and groups. I conduct my private practice both in person and online.
I am an Integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a range of different psychotherapeutic approaches in response to you and what you bring, rather than imposing any set regime. I offer a steady, compassionate presence and a safe space for you to explore your difficulties. I will walk alongside you to challenging places and help you find your voice, make sense of your feelings, and begin to heal.
I like to consider all aspects —mind, body, and spirit, as well as the cultural, generational and societal influences that shape us as multidimensional beings. Where appropriate, I incorporate meditation, body and breath work to support deeper awareness and physiological, psychological and emotional regulation.
I have worked in private practice and for various charities and organisations including the Terrence Higgins Trust and the Mildmay Hospital which support people living with HIV. In addition to my training as a therapist, I have examined the different dimensions to my own being through various Eastern and Western personal development practices. I have led workshops and retreats in the UK and abroad focusing on Yoga, self-awareness and authentic communication.
Practice description
I have a diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Minster Centre - one of Europe’s leading training centres for counselling and psychotherapy- where I am currently completing my Master's research in Integrative Psychotherapy.
I am trained to work with a variety of issues, but I have particular experience working with:
Anxiety and Depression
Sexual abuse and sexual health (e.g., HIV,)
Childhood trauma and shame
Grief (including pet loss)
Relationships and LGBTQIA+ issues
My first session
If you are interested in working together then please send me a message.
I will respond to you and arrange a free 20 minute consultation. This is a chance for us to see if we might be a good fit for each other. We can discuss what brings you to therapy and any questions you might have.
If we proceed, we work together for 6 x 50 minute sessions followed by a review. At this point we can decide if we want to continue to work with each other in a more open ended way.
I work with a range of issues. If you do not see yourself represented in the list below, it does not mean we cannot work together: these are just some areas of special interest.
