About me and my therapy practice
Are you wondering...
Why do I keep feeling rejected or abandoned in relationships?
Why do I feel so alone, even when I’m with someone?
Why do I feel ashamed of what I want?
Does wanting something different from a relationship mean something is wrong with me?
Do I have to choose between who I love and where I belong?
How do I trust again after an affair, or forgive myself for one?
Is this really the life I want, or have I just ended up here?
Why does something feel missing?
Whatever it is that brings you here, you are welcome.
Together, we can look at what’s been going on for you and start to understand the patterns that have been affecting how you feel.
I’m Katie. Working with LGBTQ+ and queer clients, and with people who are non-monogamous, kinky or exploring their sexuality, is the centre of my practice. My approach is anti-oppressive, sex-positive and kink-aware, so our work is built around your lived experience and shaped as a collaboration between us.
Practice description
Therapy is a meaningful place to talk things through with someone who is on your side, and who is curious about you. It can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, and manage life’s challenges in a calmer, steadier way. As understanding grows, so too can resilience, clarity and self-compassion.
I’m an MBACP registered integrative psychotherapist, trained on a Pink Therapy-accredited course in Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD), drawing on psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. Together we can make space to explore who you are, how you love, what you desire and where you feel you belong, in a space that celebrates your identity.
We’ll notice what’s happening between us, in the room, in real time, because that’s often where the real shifts happen. We’ll explore how your history has shaped where you are now and how it shows up in your life today.
My first session
Before we begin, I offer a free 15-minute online consultation. It’s a chance to tell me a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, ask me anything, and get a feel for whether we’d work well together. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out, and no obligation to continue.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Adoption, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Baby loss, Bereavement, Body/somatic therapy, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Coercive control, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Narcissism, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Pet bereavement, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sensory impairment, Service veterans, Severe mental illness (SMI), Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stalking, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Vegan allied, Women's issues, Work related issues
