About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Samantha Chater, a BACP registered counsellor and hypnotherapist with many years of experience supporting people through life’s ups and downs. I provide a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly, whether you’re living with loss, feeling anxious or stressed, stuck in a rut, or unsure of who you are anymore. My style is warm and straightforward, helping you make sense of what’s happening and begin to see a way forward.
I don’t believe therapy is about quick fixes. For me, it’s about lasting change through self-awareness and understanding. I work alongside you to explore the pressures you’ve been carrying and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Some people prefer counselling on its own, while others find it helpful to include hypnotherapy for relaxation, confidence, or support with change. However you choose to work, my aim is always to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected to yourself.
Perhaps you’ve spent years putting others first, keeping everything going and somewhere in that, lost touch with yourself. On the outside, you keep showing up, but inside you may feel anxious, unseen, or like you’ve drifted away from who you really are. Loss and change can shake the foundations of how we see ourselves. Grief isn’t only about losing a loved one, it can also be the quiet grief of losing health, direction, or belonging. These moments often bring painful questions: Who am I now? How do I move forward when everything feels uncertain?
Counselling gives you the chance to pause and breathe, away from the pressure to be “fine” for everyone else. Together we can explore the weight you’re carrying, the anxiety that loops in your mind, and the parts of yourself that have been left behind. This isn’t about rushing change, it’s about finding steadier ground, making sense of your story, and reconnecting with what feels real and important to you.
