About me and my therapy practice
I offer a space that is thoughtful, steady and grounded in empathy. I work with adults in Walthamstow, East London (E17) and online, and have particular experience supporting LGBTQ+ clients.
My extensive experience working in the arts outside of my therapy practice also shapes how I listen — with curiosity, sensitivity and an openness to what isn’t immediately obvious.
Therapy with me isn’t about rushing towards solutions. It’s about taking time to notice what’s happening in your thoughts, feelings and relationships. Together, we might gently explore patterns that feel hard to shift, experiences that are difficult to put into words, or simply a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right.
I will listen carefully and reflect with you, sometimes offering thoughts or observations, but always at a pace that feels manageable. There may be moments of quiet or uncertainty, and moments where something begins to make a little more sense. We work with whatever emerges.
Practice description
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling stuck or overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety or low mood, navigating grief, loss or change, experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or exploring questions around identity and self-esteem. Or you may simply recognise that you haven't been feeling quite yourself.
My approach is integrative and psychodynamic. This means we can be curious about how your past and present connect, including patterns in relationships and ways of understanding yourself that may have developed over time. But we will always do this in a way that feels relevant to what is happening for you now.
The relationship we build is central to my work. Sessions offer space to speak freely, pause and reflect without needing to arrive with everything figured out. I won't try to fit you into a box or offer quick answers. Instead, we can stay curious about your experience and what may be happening beneath the surface.
I have extensive experience working therapeutically with LGBTQ+ clients and understand that sexuality, gender and identity can intersect with relationships, family, self-esteem and our sense of belonging in complex ways. I offer an LGBTQ+ affirmative space, while my practice is open to adults of all backgrounds and identities.
Over time, therapy can help you develop a deeper awareness of yourself and your relationships, and create more space for different choices or ways of being.
My first session
Our first session is primarily an opportunity for us to get to know each other and see whether we might work well together. It's a low-pressure space for you to ask questions and get a sense of what therapy with me might feel like.
We'll talk about what brings you to counselling now, what you might hope to gain from it, and I'll explain a little about my integrative psychodynamic approach and how we might work together.
I'll also ask some questions about your history and current circumstances to help me understand what you may need from therapy. My standard session fee applies, but there is no commitment to continue. Finding the right therapist is important, and the first session gives us both an opportunity to see how it feels to work together.
