About me and my therapy practice

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, low self-worth, or the impact of past trauma, my approach offers compassionate exploration and the possibility of meaningful, lasting change. I take time to understand how your past experiences may be shaping your feelings, behaviours, relationships, and even the way you move through your professional life. Together, we go at a pace that feels safe, steady, and supportive, and transform patterns that no longer serve you.

I am an integrative, evidence-based psychotherapist, with experience in both the NHS and private practice, offering a compassionate and grounded space both online and at The Knightsbridge Practice. My work is deeply relational, guided by the belief that our earliest relationships and environments play a powerful role in how we feel, how we cope, and how we come to understand ourselves. My intention is to offer a space where you feel understood, accompanied, and able to grow in your own time.

At the core of my practice, I am guided by humanistic values and the principles of counselling psychology:

Respect and autonomy: I honour each person’s individuality and inner knowledge.

Empowerment: helping you build strength, confidence, and self-understanding.

A holistic view of well-being: recognising the connection between emotional and physical health.

Commitment to diversity and social justice: ensuring an inclusive, culturally aware practice.

Relational: recognising the therapeutic relationship as central to change.

Evidence-based therapy: grounding my work in approaches supported by contemporary psychological research.

Active involvement in research: I contribute to the field through my own research, which helps deepen my understanding of mental health and further strengthens the therapeutic work I offer.

A pluralistic, integrative approach: drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic, existential, and cognitive-behavioural theories to tailor therapy to your needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model.

My first session

Finding the right psychotherapist can feel overwhelming, and taking the first step can be daunting. I offer a free online or phone consultation where we can talk about what has brought you to therapy and see if my approach feels like the right fit for you. Feel free to email me siv@theknightsbridgepractice.com , and I'll get back to you within three working days to arrange a session that works for you.
