About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, steady space where you don't have to hold everything together on your own. When life feels heavy or confusing, therapy can give you room to slow down, breathe, and feel supported.
Many people come to me feeling exhausted from trying to hold everything together. They may be putting everyone else's needs first, struggling with low self-esteem, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling disconnected from themselves. You may also be carrying shame, navigating grief or change, experiencing relationship difficulties, or feeling the lasting impact of trauma, emotional neglect, or difficult childhood experiences.
I am a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a gentle, relational approach. I see you as a whole person whose experiences make sense in the context of your life. Together, we can explore your emotional world at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
I trained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and bring over 25 years of experience in mental health, including 15 years as a Mental Health Nurse and many years working within addiction services. I have also undertaken additional training in trauma stabilisation, bereavement and loss.
My aim is to offer a calm, compassionate space where you can feel seen and understood, and reconnect with yourself.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, grounded space where you can arrive just as you are. Many people come to therapy when life feels overwhelming, emotions are difficult to manage, or familiar patterns keep showing up in relationships and everyday life.
I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship and work collaboratively with you, paying close attention to your pace and what feels manageable. Together, we can explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, gently recognising the patterns that have developed over time and how they may be influencing your present life.
My practice is trauma-informed and informed by an understanding of the lasting impact that difficult childhood experiences, emotional neglect, and early relationships can have on our sense of self and our relationships with others. Drawing on additional training in trauma stabilisation, I bring many years of experience supporting people through complex and emotionally challenging situations.
I aim to provide a steady, supportive space where you can feel safe enough to explore your experiences, deepen your self-understanding, and strengthen your sense of self.
