About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes life can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or stuck in patterns that are difficult to understand or change. You may be struggling with relationships, confidence or self-worth, or carrying the impact of past experiences, loss or trauma. You may appear to be managing on the outside while feeling very different underneath.

My own experiences of trauma, complex relationships and personal growth have shaped the therapist I am today. They have given me a deep understanding of how difficult it can be to make sense of what we feel and find a way forward. I offer a warm, compassionate and authentic space where you can feel heard and accepted without judgement.

I believe therapy is a collaboration. Together, we can explore what is happening for you, understand the beliefs and patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and begin to make meaningful changes. I work at your pace, adapting to your needs, values and what feels right for you.

My particular areas of interest are relationships and couples, confidence and self-esteem, limiting beliefs, and trauma recovery. I support individuals and couples with relationship patterns, attachment, communication, emotional connection, self-doubt, people-pleasing and boundaries.

My trauma-informed experience includes volunteering with the NHS Youth Counselling Service and previously with a rape and sexual abuse charity, supporting clients affected by trauma. I also have experience supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.

I work integratively, tailoring therapy to you and drawing on approaches including counselling, hypnotherapy, EFT, IEMT, NLP and inner-child work where appropriate. My aim is not to "fix" you, but to help you develop greater self-understanding, confidence and self-trust, and feel more empowered to move forward.

Practice description

Counselling with me is a warm, supportive space where you can bring whatever feels important to you. Whether you’re struggling with relationships, confidence and self-worth, or the impact of past experiences, we can gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface and what may be keeping you feeling stuck.

My work particularly focuses on relationships and couples, confidence and self-esteem, limiting beliefs, and trauma recovery. Some sessions may focus on what is happening in your life right now, while others may explore earlier experiences, attachment patterns or beliefs that continue to influence how you feel, relate to others and see yourself.

I work with both young people and adults, as well as couples, and also have experience supporting people with learning disabilities and autism. Areas I commonly work with include:

  • Relationships, couples and attachment difficulties
  • Confidence, self-esteem, identity and limiting beliefs
  • Trauma and unresolved childhood experiences
  • Anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm
  • Grief, loss and life transitions
  • People-pleasing, boundaries and difficulties with self-worth
  • Exploring meaning, purpose and a deeper understanding of yourself

My approach is integrative and tailored to you. Talking therapy may be at the heart of our work, while creative and experiential approaches can be introduced where helpful. I may also draw on approaches such as hypnotherapy, EFT, IEMT and inner-child work, always guided by your needs, preferences and what feels comfortable for you.

There is no expectation that you need to know exactly what you need from therapy. We can start where you are, make sense of what you're experiencing together, and find a way of working that feels right for you.

My first session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to talk about what has brought you to therapy. There’s no expectation that you’ll have everything worked out or know exactly where to begin, we can start wherever feels most comfortable for you.

We’ll talk about what you’re experiencing, what you’d like support with and what you hope might change through therapy. We may begin to explore some of the patterns, relationships, beliefs or past experiences that could be influencing how you feel today, but there is no pressure to go anywhere before you feel ready.

I’ll also explain how I work and answer any questions you may have, so you can get a sense of whether my approach feels right for you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I’ll always aim to work at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Most importantly, you don’t need to prepare the “right” things to say. Just come as you are. We’ll take it from there.

What I can help with

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Baby loss, Bereavement, Child related issues, Depression, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Life coaching, Loss, Menopause, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
