About me and my therapy practice

I’m Kit, a relationship therapist supporting individuals, couples and polycules to navigate conflict, repair, and clearer communication. I work in person in Penwortham (Preston) and online across the UK.

I also work one-to-one with people who want space to make sense of what’s happening in their lives, particularly around relationships, burnout, identity questions, neurodivergence, and major transitions.

You don’t need to arrive with a clear goal. Many people come to therapy feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or stuck, and part of the work is creating space to slow things down, understand patterns, and find a rhythm that feels sustainable. This can be especially important if previous support has felt rushed, overly structured, or not quite right.

Relationship work isn’t just for couples. I work with partners, friends, chosen family, people in multi-partnered dynamics, and individuals wanting support with relationship challenges on their own.

Practice description

My work is collaborative and relational. There isn’t a single method I apply to everyone; instead, therapy is shaped together around what feels helpful, meaningful, and appropriate for you.

My core training is person-centred, with an emphasis on a trusting therapeutic relationship, careful listening, and respect for your lived experience. From there, I draw on other approaches where helpful, balancing practical tools and structure with space for reflection and deeper exploration when things feel complex or unclear.

In sessions, you can expect a balance of warmth, curiosity, and honesty. We might slow things down, look at patterns in thoughts, feelings, behaviour or relationships, and explore what matters to you beneath the surface of day-to-day struggles. I aim to be transparent about how I work and welcome feedback about what is and isn’t helpful, so therapy can adapt as your needs change.

My first session

Our first session is usually lightly-structured to cover confidentiality and how we’ll work together on what matters most to you. We'll go at your pace, and you can ask questions whenever you like.

After that, you bring what’s important, and I’ll offer support, reflection, and tools when helpful.
