About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, struggling in a relationship, grieving, or noticing patterns in your life that don’t make sense. You might be just about holding things together, or finding it hard to function at all. If you’d like some support and a place to think, I can help you make sense of what you’re going through.
I’m a BACP registered, qualified therapist offering therapy online across the UK and in my consulting room in Crouch End, N8. I trained for four years at The Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading integrative training institutions, and I also hold an MA from the University of Cambridge. I have additional training in bereavement, childhood sexual abuse, race and racism, and gender, sex and relationship diversity, and I’m currently training in couples counselling as a complement to my work with individual clients.
I’m an integrative therapist. That can sound a bit technical but in practice it simply means I don’t believe one approach works for everyone, so I adapt the way we work to suit you and what you’re going through. I love my work and I believe therapy works best when it’s built on trust, curiosity and compassion.
Alongside my private practice I have worked in community based counselling services and national helplines.
Practice description
If you haven’t had therapy before, I understand that it can feel a bit intimidating, and part of my role is to help you find a starting point. If you’ve had some experience of therapy we can talk about what helped and what didn’t.
I work with adults from all backgrounds, identities and walks of life. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or scary: I’m warm and down-to-earth and, yes, we’re allowed to laugh sometimes. I’ll work at your pace, without judgement.
Online sessions take place over Zoom so you can work with me from wherever you are in the UK. All you need is a private, quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute Zoom or phone call. It’s a two-way conversation: a chance for me to understand what has prompted you to consider therapy, and for you to get a sense of me and ask any questions you may have about the way I work or about therapy in general.
Following that, if you’d like to continue we can arrange an initial 50 minute session at the usual fee (£80 in person or £65 online). If we decide to work together we will meet at the same time each week in my Crouch End consulting room or online.
