About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Amy, an integrative therapist working both online and in person in the Wokingham area. I work with a range of issues including trauma, stress and anxiety, depression, low self esteem, childhood trauma, self defeating behaviours, relationship issues. (I do not work with couples). I am open to working with whatever brings you to therapy. I qualified with a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I believe that every human is beautifully individual and deserves to experience therapy that is as unique as they are. I would be delighted to walk alongside you in your journey of self discovery and healing. I provide a safe, empathic and non judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, feelings and behaviours.

I welcome any individual, no matter your race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class or disability.

Please feel free to reach out to arrange a free telephone call where I can answer any questions you may have and you can decide whether I might be the right therapist for you.

Practice description

As an integrative therapist, I am able to draw on different techniques and principles from various therapeutic approaches. This approach recognises that individuals are unique and may respond best to a tailored blend of different therapeutic methods.

I can work using a person-centred approach - working in the moment, psychodynamic approach - looking at and exploring your childhood, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) - which focuses on behaviour change utilising practical tools. I have also taken further CBT in parts work and trauma informed practice.

My first session

During the first session, I will talk through my client/therapist agreement, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the way I work.

Following this, together we work through my initial assessment. This enables me to gain a fuller understanding of what brings you to therapy, your goals and expectations. I hope to then be able to recommend a treatment plan, including an initial number of sessions and the therapeutic approach that I feel will be most beneficial for you.
