About me and my therapy practice

I deeply value the role that counselling can play in supporting people through difficult times and I recognise that reaching out for help is not always easy. Alongside my private practice in Fulwood, Preston, I volunteer one day a week as a counsellor within a charity setting, supporting individuals who may otherwise struggle to access therapy.

This experience informs my practice and and reflects my commitment to compassion, accessibility and ethical care. I aim to offer therapy that is both professional and humane, and I offer slightly reduced rates in my private work to help make counselling more accessible, while maintaining a high standard of care.

My approach is person-centred, which means that our work together is guided by your needs, not by a set agenda. I believe you are an expert on your own life, and my role is to support you in exploring your experiences, feelings and challenges at your own pace.

My aim is to develop a trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship, offering a warm, calm, and supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we can gently explore what may be troubling you, helping you to feel supported, gain clarity and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Practice description

My work involves supporting people who are navigating change, responsibility or shifting roles within their lives. I work with men, women and young adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma and relationship difficulties.

* anxiety, trauma, low mood and stress.

* relationship and family dynamics

* caring roles (children, elderly parents, supporting others)

* life transitions (becoming a parent, navigating family dynamics, supporting children as they grow or leaving home for university, divorce, changes in roles, loss and shift in identity)

* feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of who you are anymore.

These experiences can have a significant emotional impact and can leave people feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of their place. I offer a calm and supportive space to explore these experiences, helping you to reconnect with yourself and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Some people come to counselling with a specific concerns while others simply want space to reflect and better understand themselves. I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, depending on what feels most helpful for you.

Sessions take place in a safe and confidential environment, where we can work

My first session

Our first session is a relaxed talk about what's brought you to counselling and what you're hoping for.  We will look at how we might work together in a way that feels comfortable for you and you're welcome to ask any questions. Clinical Supervision

Qualified Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor / Face-to-Face & Remote Supervision / Fulwood, Preston.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and clinical supervisor offering supportive, reflective and collaborative clinical supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors.

My approach to supervision is grounded in person-centred and humanistic principles. I see supervision as a space where you can step away from the demands of your practice, reflect openly on your client work and explore what is happening both within the therapeutic relationship and within yourself as a practitioner.

I believe effective supervision should provide both challenge and support. My aim is to create a safe and trusting relationship where supervisees feel able to bring their whole practice to supervision - including uncertainty, difficult feelings, ethical dilemmas, challenges within the therapeutic relationship and areas where they may feel less confident.

Practice description

I draw on the Seven-Eyed Model of supervision to support exploration of different perspectives within the supervisory relationship. This can help us consider the client, the therapeutic relationship, the counsellor's responses and experiences, and the wider context surrounding they work.

Alongside my private practice, I have several years experience as a counsellor and trustee at a Counselling Charity Organisation in Preston. This has give me a broader understanding of the professional responsibilities involved in counselling practice, including ethical practice, safeguarding, professional boundaries and working with organisational settings.

I particularly value working with trainees as they develop their professional identity and being to find their own voice as counsellors. I also enjoy supporting qualified practitioners to continue developing their practice, reflect on their work and maintain curiosity and creativity within their therapeutic relationships.

Whether you are newly qualified, developing your private practice or an experienced counsellor looking for a different supervisory relationship, I aim to offer supervision that is thoughtful, encouraging and appropriately challenging.

If you are considering a new supervisor, I would be happy to arrange an initial conversation to explore whether my approach and experience feel like a good fit for your supervisory needs.
