About me and my therapy practice

I'm Daniel, a psychotherapist in private practice and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I also have several years’ experience working in NHS inpatient and community mental health services.

My work draws on psychodynamic thinking, attending to how aspects of emotional life can remain outside awareness while continuing to shape our relationships, sense of self, and ways of responding in the present. Therapy provides a space in which these time-worn patterns are brought into view and considered, questioned, and understood in the context of your present life and relationships.

People come to therapy at different points in their lives. This may follow periods of distress, anxiety, low mood, or difficulties with closeness, conflict, or connection. At other times, it reflects a wish to understand oneself better and to look more closely at ways of living and relating that no longer feel sustainable.

I offer a regular, confidential setting in which experience can be explored and reflected on with care and attention. I work collaboratively, at a pace that feels manageable, and so offer both time-limited and open-ended psychotherapy for adults of all ages.

Practice description

Sessions last for 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, either in person or online.

My fee is £60 per session, with a limited number of reduced-fee spaces available for full-time students and those on lower incomes.

My first session

Beginning therapy often brings a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty. The first session offers a chance to talk about what has led you to seek therapy, what you are hoping for, and to get a sense of how we might work together.
