About me and my therapy practice
Navigating a world that wasn’t built with neurodivergent minds in mind can often feel overwhelming, isolating, or exhausting. Whether you or your child are navigating ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, or another form of neurodivergence or are simply exploring what a potential diagnosis might mean I offer a non-directive, open space where you can show up exactly as you are.
My practice is affirmative, strengths-focused, and deeply respectful of individual processing styles and sensory needs. In our sessions, there is no pressure to conform, mask, or fit into a standard therapeutic box. We can work through talk, creative tools, or simply sitting with what feels most comfortable in the moment.
When working with young people, I focus building trust and safety at a pace that feels right for them. For families, therapy can become a collaborative space to untangle communication patterns, process the emotional weight of diagnosis journeys, and deeper mutual understanding without judgment.
Together, we can explore:
Unmasking & Identity: Honoring your authentic self and reducing the burnout that comes from constantly adapting to a neurotypical environment.
Sensory & Emotional Grounding: Finding tailored ways to manage sensory overload, emotional regulation, and executive functioning challenges.
Family System: Supporting parents and young people to bridge communication gaps and build an environment where everyone feels regulated and understood.
Practice description
Therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. My practice is built on the belief that you are the expert on your own life and lived experience. I am here to offer a warm, grounded presence to help you make sense of your internal world without setting an agenda or telling you what you should be doing.
My approach is integrative and relational, which means I draw from different therapeutic frameworks to meet you wherever you are on any given day. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all answers, I hold a calm, compassionate space where we can explore thoughts, emotions, and bodily felt senses together.
Whether you are seeking short-term support during a period of transition or open-ended therapy for deeper self-discovery, we will move at your rhythm.
In our sessions, you can expect:
A Non-Directive Space: You choose what we talk about, what we leave at the door, and how fast or slow we move.
Relational Depth: A safe human connection where you can express feelings you might usually hide or hold back.
A Flexible Environment: Accommodations for sensory needs, quiet moments, or alternative ways of expressing yourself are always welcome and supported.
Taking the first step can feel intimidating, which is why I offer an initial consultation. This is a chance for us to connect, discuss what you're hoping for from therapy, and decide together whether my practice feels like the right fit for you or your family.
My first session
Taking that first step can feel a bit daunting. Our first session is really just about slowing down, settling in, and getting a feel for how we might work together, with no pressure and no performance.
Initial Contracting: We will spend a few minutes covering practical bits like confidentiality. We will also tailor the space to suit you or your young person. In person, this might mean tweaking lighting or moving around. Online, it could mean using fidgets, bringing sensory comforts to screen, or keeping cameras off at first.
Building a Connection: You do not have to spill your whole life story on day one. We will get to know each other at a comfortable pace. It is an open conversation where you share only what you feel ready to.
Play & Getting Creative: Talking continuously for 50 minutes can feel like a lot. In the room, I have drawing supplies, games, and fidgets. Online, we can use digital whiteboards, screen-shared games, or items you have at home. Creative tools are brilliant, low-pressure ways to express feelings without needing the right words.
By the end of our first chat, you will hopefully have a clear sense of whether I am the right fit to walk alongside you.
