About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Kulminder and I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, and a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I work with young people (13+) and adults, offering a safe, warm, and non‑judgemental space to explore whatever feels difficult, confusing, or overwhelming. My approach is integrative, drawing on both person‑centred and psychodynamic relational therapy. This means I believe you are the expert in your own experience, and together we explore your inner world, your relationships, and the patterns that may be shaping how you feel today.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy carrying experiences of trauma whether from childhood, adolescence, or adulthood. I have worked with issues such as child sexual abuse, infidelity, domestic abuse, childhood trauma anxiety and depression. My clients come from different cultural backgrounds and gender identities, and I value the individuality each person brings.
Sometimes the trauma is clear and remembered; other times it shows up through anxiety, anger, low mood, relationship difficulties, or a sense of not feeling “good enough.” You don’t need to have the words or a clear story when you arrive. We can gently make sense of things together, at your pace.
I support clients with a range of concerns, including but not limited to:
• Trauma, anxiety, depression, identity and self‑worth, family conflict and relational difficulties
My aim is to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood, a space where you can explore your emotions safely, build self‑awareness, and reconnect with your own strength and sense of self.
If you’re unsure where to begin, that’s completely okay. Reaching out is often the hardest step, and we can take it from there together.
You are very welcome to reach out and request an initial conversation to see if we are a good fit for each other.
Practice description
Sessions last 50 minutes. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy.
Sessions are calm, steady, and shaped around what you need on that particular day. We begin by settling in and checking in with how you’re feeling, with no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready. Some sessions unfold through gentle conversation; others might involve creative tools to help you express things that are hard to put into words, if that feels like something you’d be willing to explore.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute telephone or online consultation to help you decide if you think I may be able to help you.
In our first session, we’ll explore what has brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and how we might work together. I’ll also carry out a gentle initial assessment to help me understand your needs and ensure you receive the right support. You don’t need to have everything figured out, this session is a gentle starting point to see how it feels to talk together and whether the relationship feels right for you.. There’s no pressure to continue beyond that session.
