About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck or quietly struggling to cope? Perhaps you're managing on the outside but inside feeling tired, disconnected, uncertain or alone.

I offer a calm supportive space where you can slow things down, feel understood, and explore what's going on for you.

About me:

I’m Viki, a qualified therapeutic counsellor offering a warm, person-centred and relational approach. I work collaboratively with you, paying close attention to what it feels like to be in relationship and creating a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself.

Therapy is a partnership. We’ll work together at your pace to explore what you need—whether that’s navigating a difficult period, understanding recurring patterns, or gaining deeper insight into yourself. I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Practice description

I have a particular interest in working with people who experience separation, distance, or a sense of not fully belonging - whether through relationships, family circumstances, life transitions, or other forms of loss and change. These experiences can bring feelings such as grief, shame, loneliness, or disconnection, which are not always easy to talk about.

Before training as a counsellor, I completed a PhD in Social Anthropology at Durham University. This background has shaped how I understand emotional experience, identity and belonging, and I bring this sensitivity into my counselling work.

I also have an interest in how place and environment affect wellbeing - feelings of loss, displacement, or a longing and nostalgia for somewhere that feels like home. These themes may come into our work if they are relevant to you.

Whatever brings you to therapy, I aim to offer a relationship where you feel understood, supported and more connected to yourself, so you can move forward in a way that feels right for you.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute phone call as an initial step. This gives us chance to get a sense of whether working together feels right. If you’re new to counselling, we can also talk about what it might look like for you and how it could fit into your life.

If you decide to move forward, the first full session is an opportunity to explore what’s bringing you to counselling. We’ll talk about your hopes, goals, and any expectations you may have. I’ll also explain how I work and what you can expect from me – such as providing a safe, non-judgemental space where you feel heard, supported and respected.
