About me and my therapy practice

I’m a qualified therapist with a calm, straightforward and collaborative approach. I work with adults of any age who want to understand themselves better, make sense of what’s happening, and find ways forward that feel genuine. I hold an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP).

Clients normally bring all kinds of stuff to sessions: anger they don’t feel allowed to show, grief and loss, relationship mess, family drama, overwhelm, feelings of difference, procrastination, or being too hard on themselves. Sometimes it’s just a feeling that something isn’t right, or that an old way of coping isn’t working anymore. I enjoy working with people to turn confusing experiences into something more understandable and manageable.

Practice description

My approach is person centred and integrative. I pay close attention to what you bring, ask questions, and offer interpretations that help you see your patterns more clearly - where they came from, what they’ve done for you, and whether they’re still useful.

There’s no fixed programme, no work sheets, or homework to do, unless something comes up that you genuinely want to try between sessions.

You can speak plainly with me, and swearing is welcome. I’m comfortable with anger, grief, shame, sex, fear, and other stuff that may feel difficult to share elsewhere.

My first session

You might arrive unsure what to talk about or where to start. That’s common; you don’t need to walk in with a plan. After we start speaking, important things tend to come up.

I’ll match your pace. I may slow things down when something needs more attention or gently help you make links when a pattern appears. You won’t be expected to disclose more than you’re ready to share. We can use the first session to understand what has brought you to therapy, consider what you’d like to be different, and get a sense of whether working together feels right.

Sessions are 50 minutes and can be face-to-face, by video, or by phone, depending on what suits you best.

You can arrange a free 15 minute conversation to ask questions, find out more about how I work, and decide whether I might be the right therapist for you.
