About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor working in line with the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore what’s going on for you at your own pace.
My core training is in person-centred counselling, I also integrate elements of solution-focused and trauma-informed approaches, allowing me to adapt our work to your individual needs. Whether you are looking for space to explore your experiences more deeply or support in finding ways to move forward, we can work together in a way that feels right for you.
I work collaboratively with you, offering empathy, understanding, and acceptance to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and to support you in developing greater self-awareness and resilience.
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. My aim is to create a calm and respectful therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard, and supported.
Practice description
I offer one-to-one counselling in a calm, confidential, and supportive environment where you can talk openly without fear of judgement. Sessions are led by you and focused on what feels most important in your life, working at a pace that feels comfortable.
I work with people from a range of backgrounds and life stages, including young adults and students. I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.
Counselling can be a space to explore your thoughts and feelings, make sense of your experiences, and begin to find ways forward. My aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
I offer online sessions, with availability in the evenings and at weekends, which can be helpful if you are balancing work, study, or other commitments.
My first session
I understand coming to your first counselling session can feel like a big step. Its completely natural to feel nervous, unsure of what to expect, or not know what you want to talk about about or even where to start.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you come. I will gently help guide the session and support you in finding a place to begin, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Out first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to get to know each other. We can talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you might like support with, but there is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.
I will also explain how i work, including confidentiality, and there will be space for you to ask any questions.
Most importantly, this first session is a chance for you to see whether you feel comfortable working with me. Feeling safe and at ease is an important part of counselling, and we can take things one step at a time.
